What It Is: Over the past few years, olive oil and vinegar bars have popped up all over the place as a new foodie sampling destination. It’s no wonder then, that a company like Nudo has emerged to take things a step further. The gist? You select an olive tree to ‘adopt’ in Italy’s lush landscape and as part of a subscription service, receive quarterly deliveries of oil right from your very own tree. You can tweak your subscription as well, to add limited edition or unique applications of your oil to be sent as well – like oil infused with lemons or mandarins for a flavourful punch.
Who It’s For: Your foodie sibling, as a luxe wedding present. Your lovely dinner party hosting parents, as a unique anniversary gift to celebrate ‘time gone by’. Your chef husband, because he can never stock up the shelves with enough gourmet oil: a tree of his ‘own’ is a whole different level.
What It Costs: $72 a quarter, including delivery from what I can tell. I also like their ‘Grow an olive tree & adopt one too‘ gift set for $135.

Olive oil is the nectar Im of the gods! 🙂 I’d love to have my own tree to harvest it from. I’d be dipping bread in that stuff all day long!
I would love to have my own tree and then reap the rewards without all the work. It is also the perfect birthday gift for that someone who has everything I know.
Though I use olive oil all of the time, I think the price is a bit too steep for me to adopt a tree. I’m content to buy my olive oil off of the shelves at the grocery store & save money so I can GO to Italy and LOOK at the olive trees!
I use olive oil regularly but I couldn’t justify the cost.

What a great idea. I’d love this, being a foodie, it couldn’t get better than this.I’m no good with plants & stuff however, so the fact that my tree would be in Italy & I’m not the caregiver , it should have a chance at a nice long life.
