Light of the Party

Ion Party RockerWhat It Is:This all-in-one sound system basically brings the party wherever you set it up. It’s a mid-sized speaker that can wirelessly play music from any Bluetooth-enabled device (including your smartphone or MP3 player). You can also plug in a musical instrument for a private show amongst friends, or a microphone for a karaoke party. But what really amps it up is the built-in light show dome, which projects brilliant rays of blue, green and red light onto the ceiling, either in time to the music or totally randomly. It’s a cool way to instantly turn your covered patio into an outdoor disco or your basement into a cheesy lounge.

Who It’s For:Your kids, for all those parties they’re hosting for their friends. Your parents, for all those backyard bashes they’re hosting for their friends. Your musically-inclined sibling, to wow the crowds next time they break out their axe.

What It Costs:$199.99

Where It’s At:The Source online and in stores.

Bonus entry into my Distinguished Designs giveaway! Tell me in the comments below – would you splurge on this speaker to ramp up the fun factor at your next shindig?

I have a sound system for my iPod, but not with all the lights. I don’t think I would want to spend this much, but it looks like fun!

I would splurge on this. We entertain frequently on our patio, and live in the country so noise would not be a problem. Great find!!

I don’t know that I’d spend the $ on it, but I wouldn’t turn it down as a gift!
