Hop Hop Hooray

Easter’s very much on the horizon and with it, a slew of spring and bunny-themed gift ideas. Today I’m highlighting some fun picks that are either Easter-themed or would be a perfect addition to someone’s Easter basket in your life. Take a peek below!

Bunny Alarm ClocksThe Emily + Merritt Bunny Alarm Clocks – $93 @ PBteen
First up a luxe way to ring in the Easter season. These vintage-styled alarm clocks are decked out with quirky bunny ears, making them a true statement piece for your nightstand. Created for PBTeen from celeb stylists / fashion designers Emily Current and Merritt Elliot, these bunny alarm clocks are an ideal pick for transitioning from a basket of Easter treats to a more chic way to celebrate the holiday. Available in gold, silver and white.

Ponytail PalsPonytail Pals – $8.99 each
I like the idea of some non-sweet treats in your little one’s Easter basket. These adorable ponytail holders are a perfect pick for young girls with a soft spot for the animal kingdom. Available in a range of critters – including a seasonally appropriate rabbit – these plush ponytail holders are a cute way to keep a stuffed friend close. They also work as a bracelet, or double ’em up for a sweet pigtail look. Ponytail Pals are available in Canada at over 50 stores across Ontario, B.C., Alberta, Quebec and Manitoba. Look out for them at fine toy and gift stores, including Minds Alive in Collingwood, Kidlink in Montreal and Forever Toys in Calgary. To find the location closest to you, reach out to the Ponytail Pals folks for details.

Indigo Easter BasketsEaster Baskets – $10 each @ Indigo
Proof that an Easter basket doesn’t have to be a hefty investment – these sweet, felt baskets with complementary satin-y polka dot lining. With pink and blue bunnies, or more unique options like a blooming purple flower or a sprightly zig zag egg design, these festive baskets are a great pick as either a primary basket for your little one, or as one to stuff with goodies for a niece, nephew or grandchild.

Kinetic Sand
Kinetic Sand – $14 each @ Amazon.ca
I’m obsessed with this stuff to begin with – but love that it comes in festive, bright, Easter-friendly shades now too! If you’ve never played with Kinetic Sand before, it basically brings the joys of playing on the beach indoors. While made primarily from sand, the 2% polymers mixed in give it a unique, muss-free texture, meaning you won’t be vacuuming up kernels of sand for years to come. Your kids can create elaborate shapes and get their hands dirty this Easter with this fun toy idea.

Alabaster Egg Placecard HoldersAlabaster Egg Place Card Holders – $55 @ Williams-Sonoma
For a luxe hostess gift option, why not take a peek at what Williams-Sonoma has in store? Their Easter lineup includes Beatrix Potter-esque plates, as well as plenty of other sprightly, spring-hued items in pretty pastels and luxurious finishes. These egg place card holders are perfect for an exquisite family dinner. Rendered in alabaster, they’re a worthy heirloom for the little ones waiting for the Easter Bunny to make an appearance this season.

Lush Carrot GiftCarrot Gift – $34.95 @ Lush
This delightful gift set packs a garden variety of products inside its (surprisingly) glow-in-the-dark wrapping. Three of the products are returning seasonal favourites, including a refreshing carrot soap and a glittering golden egg bath melt that would make Veruca Salt jealous. New to the mix this year? The lime and lavender-scented Hoppity Poppity Bath Bomb, which retails for $4.95 on its own and makes a lovely treat to sneak into anyone’s Easter basket.

BabyniesBabynies – $24 each
Another product from the Ponytail Pals line are Babynies (pronounced – bay-beanies). These snuggly knit beanie caps are an ideal choice for a baby celebrating their first Easter. Apart from the cute photo op, it’s a practical pick that’ll keep baby nice and warm during the windy, nippy days that tend to pop up in March and April. Available in six bright and cheerful hues, including two particularly Easter-friendly designs – the rabbit and duck pictured above – this is a sweet pick when it’s too early for the Easter Bunny to pay a visit. Available across Canada at a range of toy and baby stores.

Easter-Ring-PopEaster Ring Pops – $1 each @ Gummi Boutique
Proof you don’t have to splurge to outfit your little one’s Easter basket with fun and innovative treats. Every child (and a few adults too) love the sugary sweet novelty of a Ring Pop. These ones mimic that same design – but come in fun Easter shapes like rabbits and chicks. The sugar rush’ll be worth it once you see the smiles of delight on their faces.

Roominate StudioRoominate Studio – $32.95
There’s a lot of chatter about ‘boy-friendly’ and ‘girl-friendly’ toys and the way they may enhance certain gender stereotypes. Enter a brilliant brand like Roominate, which encourages girls to tap into a variety of skills – including the key STEM areas of science, technology, engineering and math – to create their very own dollhouses from the ground up. Curious to give it a whirl? Start out with this affordable and fun ‘Studio’ set. Girls as young as six will be challenged to wire up a motorized fan in the 70-piece kit. Once they’re done, they’ll have a one-of-a-kind space to tell stories and work other parts of their brain. I love this as a fun way to keep the kiddies occupied on Easter after their sugar rush has built up (or died down). If you’re looking for Roominate products in Canada, check out Indigo for easy access to the full line.
