Fashion House

Well remember how the other day I said I typically don’t talk about fashion too much? This little bulletin is just too juicy to keep to myself, especially with Boxing Day sales looming around the corner. If you’re one of the (un)lucky ones who have to buy a gift for someone early in the New Year for say, an anniversary, birthday, or other special occasion, consider using Boxing Day as a positive shopping tool in snagging some wonderful gifts at sizzling prices.

Anyway, the news in question surrounds that fact that one of Canada’s most prolific retailers, Le Chateau, has finally joined the online shopping brigade. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to visit the online store for a favourite shop, only to see it basically profiles a handful of items with no possibility to easily purchase them yourself, other than *hoping* they’ll be in store.

The Le Chateau store is expansive – much like their actual collections – and every single piece is modelled by an actual person, giving you a better idea of just how it fits on the body. If you’re looking for a specific style, check out the outfits created (however loosely) around various themes like ‘Rockabilly’ or ‘Bond Girl’. When you spot a piece you like, simply click through for details on that specific item.

As user-intuitive the store is, my possibly favourite feature has to be the fact they’ve included a rather extensive sale section that is just as well-organized and easy to navigate as the rest of the site, unlike say, trawling your way through an uber busy Le Chateau outlet (as I’ve been known to do). They easily highlight for you whether an item is available in the size and colour you want, and helpfully show just how much an item has been discounted – like the fantastic Crinkle Pointy Toe heel above, priced at just $19 from $39.

So whether you’re still looking for some last-minute gifts, or if you want to use the LC website as inspiration for a brave trip to the store itself, or you’re doing planning for those post-holiday shopping trips, definitely keep an eye on Le Chateau’s fan-tas-mic new website!
