Tangerine Redux
I know I did my big Tangerine Tango post some time ago, but a friend brought this to my attention and I’d be remiss to not share it with you guys as well. Apparently the Pantone Institute has teamed up with Sephora to release a few limited-edition items on this year’s big colour – that rich, fiery shade of ruby orange, and as long as your giftee can wear this sometimes-tricky shade, consider yourself locked in for a few new covetable gift ideas.
Color Of The Year Collectors Set – $82
Any beauty mavens on your gift list would absolutely flip for any one piece of this capsule collection, but you can also go for the gold (or bronze, as it were) with this ultimate collectors set. Including an eyeliner, eyeshadow quad, two blush products, lipstick, and lip gloss, it’s the easiest way to bring a pop of this cheerful hue into your life – or go for a brow-to-lip look. As you can see, Tangerine doesn’t have to be scary – a sweep of the blush is enough to liven any pasty Canadian complexion, while the lipstick or eyeliner can be used to draw attention to your favourite features.
If your friendly or family member is a little shy to slap some Tangerine Tango on their face, go for a slightly more discreet but no less cheerful solution with this collection of four Tangerine-hued polishes (one of the hottest nail shades this summer). Each polish features a slightly different finish – creme, shimmer, glitter, matte – to allow you to mix and match or simply choose the shade that suits your giftee best. Split up the set amongst your four friends, or wrap the whole shebang up as a fun birthday gift for your sister.
I stand by a philosophy many make-up artists would firmly agree with: no matter how awesome your products are, they’re useless if they’re not being applied with high-quality brushes. So maybe your mom feels like Tangerine Tango is a little too punchy for her, or your best friend laments it’s too vibrant for her pale skin – if they still dig the colour, give them a chance to work it into their makeup vanity, but not on their face, with this sleek and futuristic brush box collection. Including a powder, foundation, concealer, crease, and shadow brush, this tool set features everything a gal needs to give good face.
You can check out the full Pantone + Sephora collection right here – note that all my prices quoted here at the Canadian prices, which may differ from what you see online. I’m just kind of enamored because it’s such a creative way to bring our society’s collective obsession with the Color Of The Year to the masses in a fresh new way. Now…we just gotta make sure next year’s colour isn’t a scary frosty blue or faded puce.
The brush set is awesome; however, I’m still not too sure about that color for me. #cgg
I can’t rock that colour, but he makeup brushes would work! #CGG
I love every one of these great picks! #cgg
