Where’s The Beef?
There are some men that I think qualify for the ‘Iconic Guy Hall of Fame’ – aka, guys that virtually every man looks up to, or at least knows a thing or two about. James Dean. Frank Sinatra. Cary Grant. John Wayne. The latter is the focus of today’s post, via John Wayne Stock and Supply, a relatively new company that upholds the ideals of its namesake: simple, straightforward, and honest.
But what does a company befitting one of Hollywood’s greatest cowboys sell? The answer, quite simply, is beef jerky, available in two general varieties – Natural or Organic. The Natural brand is free from preservatives and artificial ingredients, giving it a fresh, chewy taste you won’t find from products sold at your local convenience store. Plus the cattle the jerky comes from are never fed animal byproducts, meaning you get to snack away knowing there’s next to no risk of animal-to-animal diseases.
Both the Natural and the Organic line takes things that much further – the cattle were also raised without antibiotics or hormones, and the Organic brand means the feed itself was certified organic. Aside from all the good news, there’s a yummy factor here as well: both the Natural and Organic jerky come in four tasty flavours including original, sweet teriyaki, smoky bar-b-que, and spicy black pepper. Each package retails for $6.49 USD + pretty reasonable shipping to Canada. And, as an homage to John Wayne’s legend, a portion of the proceeds from every sale goes to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
Why am I featuring this gift right now? Well most guys are know are pretty big jerky fans, and this makes for a fun Father’s Day add-on. If you’re gifting dad with a day on the golf course or some camping gear, load him up with a few packs of the good stuff as a finishing touch.
