Find of the Month: Maybelline
Like most beauty mavens, my collection is a mixture of high-end luxury products from the likes of Sephora and department stores, and way-awesome affordable finds from my local drugstore. These days, it’s amazing how competitive those drugstore brands are – constantly releasing new products, innovative formulas, and totally on-trend colour choices. Truthfully, I often find myself gravitating toward Maybelline when I’m perusing the beauty aisles. I’ve had a long-term relationship with their Lashfinder Mascara (which is only available at Shoppers Drug Mart), I flipped for their on-par-with-high-end Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, and more recently, I’ve fallen in love with the airy-soft formula of their Dream Bouncy Blush (goes on like a cream, dries like a powder).
Naturally when the opportunity crossed my path to highlight a few more of their latest & greatest beauty finds, I jumped at it. Because here’s the truly awesome thing about bargain-priced beauty finds: you can stock up on tons of them and put together a swell gift basket, grab a few and toss them into someone’s stocking, or you can use them as a way to dabble in an entire product line. Never tried gel eyeliner? I not only recommend giving it a go with Maybelline, but sticking with it afterward – the results are undeniable. And so is the awesomeness of this month’s pretty picks!
Dream Fresh BB – $10.50
I mentioned above that I love Maybelline’s Dream Bouncy Blush, and this BB Cream is in the same vein – light, airy, and instantly smoothing. I talked about BB Creams last month, but for a quick recap: this is the latest godsend product from beauty land (via Asia). Instead of heavyweight foundation, these light coverage miracle creams are meant to work overtime with multiple benefits. In the case of Maybelline’s product, we’re talking eight different duties, including SPF 30, minimizing imperfections, and giving you a healthy, enviable glow. This product is particularly minimal because unlike other products which use water-in-oil emulsions, this one uses a gel-in-oil emulsion. Available in five shades, it’s great for busy moms looking for an instantly polished look, or for beauty diehards that are keen to try every BB out there (hint: this one might be your go-to!)

Maybelline did a serious overhaul of their nail polish collection this past spring – ushering in a new era of runway-inspired shades and funky finishes, with everything from electric lime to classic red to dramatic whites and blacks. I’VE been using the Colossal Cat Eyes Mascarra for ever!!! It works sooo perfect that I ha to get my girls and my Mom! I really wanna try the BB cream though since my cousin won’t stop talking about it!

A girl I work with raves about the Dream Fresh BB. I would love to try it since I’m looking for something a little lighter on my face than the foundation I use right now.
