Find Of The Month: Rodial

I don’t really know where the wacky ideas that guide this blog’s content come from sometimes to be honest. Like last year, I decided to make the winter months all about ‘Mid-Winter Pick-Me-Ups’. This year, I thought it’d be cool to make January all about ‘New Year, New You’ – gift ideas to better yourself and help you reach your New Year’s Resolutions, whatever they may be. With that in mind, I thought I’d kick things off by looking at British brand Rodial, and their line of turning-back-the-clock products that’ll make you look as young as this year currently is.

Rodial Skincare On The Go

First, some background. Rodial is pretty well-respected amongst dermatologists, beauty lovers, and celebs alike for their scientific-yet-glamazon approach to keeping your skin taut and youthful. While their products are infused with nature’s most potent collagen booster (from pomegranate of all things), they also have a pretty glam vibe that evokes standing on the red carpet and knowing you’ve got to look your best. Granted, us mere mortals probably don’t have flashbulbs in our face on a daily basis, but we do have insecurities, and Rodial’s amazing products can help you take care of all those little iffy spots you want to improve on this year. Want proof? If you dig through their archive of ‘Celeb Secrets‘ you’ll see buy-in from the likes of Anne Hathaway, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez to name but a few skin-envy stars.

Today I’m going to pick out five of the products that most piqued my interest – but really, the brand has a huge line of makeup, skincare, face care, and self-tanning goodies you seriously have to check out. Consider gifting one to your favourite girl (mom, sister, wife) for her birthday or simply to keep her motivated as she works on self-improvement in the new year. Oh and wondering where to buy? Well the Rodial website does ship worldwide at a flat rate of about $30. But luckily for us Canucks, The Bay and Murale stores across the nation also carry the products so you can peruse in-person as well.

Rodial Tummy Tuck

Tummy Tuck – $110
Rub your tummy daily not because you’re hungry, but because you want to see a tighter, firmer midsection with this mind-blowing formula. Microfibres and Laracare power up the skin on your stomach to tighten, tone, and plump up the skin. Obviously the lotion isn’t providing a straight shot to a six-pack, but if you’re aiming to shed a ton of weight this year, or distressed at the sight of your saggy belly post-pregnancy or last year’s incredible weight loss, this will help restore your skin back to glory.

Rodial dragons bloodDragon’s Blood Collection – $30 – $95 each
2012 was ‘Year of the Dragon’, making this newer addition to the Rodial collection well-timed indeed. The collection kicked off with a well-received product known as Sculpting Gel (not pictured), but more colloquially, as a ‘face lift in a jar’. Does the name of the line give you the jitters? Never fear. Dragon’s Blood is actually a tree sap that forms a second skin-type film on your face to protect against damage, reduce redness, and make you look all-around more youthful. If you try out the Sculpting Gel and fall in love with the instant-tightening feeling, you can extend the magic to all parts of your face and body with the rest of the line, including a cooling eye gel to reduce fine lines, and an instant-brightening face mask!

Rodial Boob Job

Boob Job – $110
I’m actually pretty fascinated by this one, simply because I don’t know that I’ve ever seen another skincare company produce a lotion designed to enhance your bust and decolletage. I’ve read reviews that have claimed an increase in tautness (always a plus as you age up), and much more dramatic results like going up an entire cup size. But how you ask? If you apply the lotion twice a day after eating, the formula actually traps freewheeling fat cells and directs them to plump up your bust. Which hi, bonus, also means they’re not collecting in other unsavory areas. Really though, one of its most useful applications is for a new mom or mom-to-be that’s worried about the state of her shape after the little one arrives: allow her to primp and get back to the old her, despite the whole ‘new year, new you’ premise.

Rodial GlamstickGlamsticks – $24 each
Is your New Year’s Resolution to explore new romantic opportunities? Then you best be taking care of that kisser with one of these cocoa butter-infused tinted lip balms. The universally flattering colours, slight sheen, and subtle coconut scent all add up to the perfect product to make you utterly resistible through the winter months and beyond. The nifty thing about all of Rodial’s cosmetics products, by the way, is that they may be all about beauty, but there’s still science and thought behind every innovation. Love!

Rodial Stretch MXStretch MX – $79
Want to know one of the secrets to how Victoria Beckham – mother of FOUR – always looks so damn good? Apparently she’s invested in some Rodial Stretch MX to tame – actually erase – her post-baby stretch marks. If you’re aiming to get knocked up in 2013, start using this formula the moment your bun starts cooking in that oven to smooth the skin surface and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Already a mama and hoping to get back in swimwear shape? This gel formula isn’t only preventative, it can be used for anyone looking to reduce their stomach stripes.

Phew! Like I said, the Rodial line has products to better just about every part of your body – from your booty to your beauty routine, there’s a must-have that should be making its way onto your wish list right about now. But in the meantime, I’ve got the craziest giveaway ever to kick off 2013. I’m not even kidding – I’ve got almost $2,400 worth of Rodial products to giveaway to TEN lucky winners! Want to be one of them? Check out the prize packages below + learn how you can enter…
