Flash Post: Hop Couture

Gap Peter Rabbit CollectionWhat It Is: Easter may be over a month away, but the folks at Gap are celebrating the world’s most beloved bunny – that would be, Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit – a little bit earlier. Their new, limited-edition line of Peter Rabbit gear takes inspiration both literal and metaphorical from the beloved line of children’s book for a collection that channels a weekend in the English countryside without sacrificing baby-aged practicality. Indulge in a cute decaled onesie, precious knit cap, or whiskered sweater for a direct take, or scoop up some printed denim, suede booties, or pastel basics for a more neutral approach. Either way, you’ll probably be as hard-pressed as I was to not pair an expletive with how flippin’ cute this stuff is.

Who It’s For: Well babies of course. Bonus points if mom grew up reading Beatrix Potter’s tales (like I did), and extra bonus points if you tuck some of the stories in with your present.

What It Costs: Whether you’re shopping for a bouncing boy or a sweet girl, prices start at $4 (for a pair of socks) and climb up to the $88 mark for a girls’ cashmere hoodie with faux animal ears. Consider mixing & matching your favourite pieces in a gift basket – you can easily score a few items for $50 or less.

Where It’s At: Gap stores nationwide and online.
