Fish of Plenty

I’ve turned on my Retailer Spotlight this morning to introduce you all to a fun and varied Canadian online gift store called Orangefish! In a nutshell, Orangefish is simply brimming with gift ideas at a huge range of price points (most under $50) for pretty much every person on your gift list. My personal favourite feature of the site is the ability to shop by ‘theme’ – so if you know someone in your life has a particular passion for travel or sports or puppies, you can easily peruse Orangefish’s vast catalogue to find a perfect gift idea or two. With the great Canadian shipping rates (plus free shipping over $79) and the purse-friendly prices, I simply couldn’t wait to share this fun shop with you all. Without further ado, I’ve handpicked a few gift ‘themes’ of my own to give you some inspiration for any upcoming occasions.

Beauty QueenFor The Beauty Queen: Everyone knows how much I love writing about beauty & bath care products – and for good reason, they make sensational gifts! The Orangefish catalogue is jam-packed with gifts suited for fellow girly glam girls. Gift her something sweet like a Cupcake Lip Balm that tastes like a baked good while nourishing your lips (and looking adorable!), or a box full of ‘Bon Bon Bath Bombs‘ for a sugary way to unwind, or try out an Eye Kandy glitter kit for some serious eye-popping makeup. Maybe she needs something a little more practical – like a festive floral cosmetics tote, travel bags for her intimates, or a Bauble Bag jewelry organizer for when you’re on the go. Also worth checking out? A set of fun printed tweezers to keep those unruly brows in shape – perfect as a birthday gift for that beauty maven on your list.

Hostess With The Mostest
For The Hostess With The Mostest:
Any dedicated gift giver should have a stockpile of ready-to-go hostess gifts tucked away. While a bottle of wine is always a safe bet, try something special that they might not buy themselves, but will totally and completely love, like these fun and affordable ideas. A wooden serving accoutrement is always a safe bet – I adore these kitschy pop art cutting boards and funny ‘Rabbit Food‘ salad servers, both priced under $15. If you’re attending a swankier soiree like an engagement party or afternoon tea, consider something like this nifty all-in-one wine set (featuring coasters, a tasting game, and bottle toppers) or a pretty tin of Heavenly Creme tea. Finally I’m also in love with these upcycled beer glasses as a manly host gift – they come in over a dozen varieties, look totally awesome, and are eco chic to boot.

World Traveler
For The World Traveler:
Whether your loved one has to travel for work or simply basks in scouring the world in their free time, these travel-friendly picks will show a vested interest in their favourite hobby, without breaking your bank or overstuffing their suitcase. The travel collection at Orangefish varies from creature comforts to practical packing solutions. If you want to keep your gear organized when on the road, try the Grid It electronics + other essentials flexible elastic organizer, which makes it a snap to grab your carry-on goods without delving into your purse or briefcase too deeply. Or keep your cosmetics organized and ready to grab-and-go with the ‘Lay-N-Go Cosmo‘ organizer. Are you a worry wart when traveling? Ease the stress with either the Vinnibag inflatable storage compartment for packing liquids or other fragile items, or invest in an alarm doorstop if you’re staying in a hostel and want to ensure your door is locked up tight through the night. Finally don’t forget to relax and unwind during your travels – a pretty travel candle can make your home-away-from-home simply feel more homey, and the Sseko interchangeable sandal strap system is an ingenious way to cut down on luggage clutter and have weeks’ worth of stylish footwear.

Super Sports Fan
For The Super Sports Fan:
Ladies and gents can get in on the fun sporty-inspired gift ideas from Orangefish. Get wrapped up for a fall football game in a snuggly ‘Touchdown‘ blanket, or crack open a Pimm’s while watching Wimbledon with this fun tennis-handle bottle opener. If your giftee is more of a fitness buff, check out these awesome gym tees (for ladies too) that reveal a hidden message when you work up a sweat, or buy a pair of performance compression socks that can actually improve your athletic prowess whether you’re a runner, team sports player, or a lone wolf pounding it out on the treadmill. Finally if your girlfriend is a sports buff, let her subtly show her pride on game days with these fun sporty nail art kits. I should probably point out that with the sports collection in particular, there are variations of almost every item for at least a couple of sports. So if you want a different bottle opener – you can also buy a baseball bat, golf club, or hockey stick option. Want a different blanket? There’s also a golfer’s style. Ditto on the nail art – apply hockey sticks or football places to show your team spirit.

You may have noticed that I didn’t include prices on the above items. That’s because I really and truly encourage you to peruse the Orangefish website to get a taste of the price points and variety of items to choose from. As I mentioned, many items are under the $50 mark – however a few pricier picks crawl up to the $80 – $110 range. No matter what, you’re sure to find something that suits your gifting budget and the person you’re buying for, making Orangefish an A+ retailer to check out next time you’re floundering for gift help. To that end, I’ve actually got a $50 gift card to gift to one reader. Here’s how to enter:

1) Visit the Orangefish website, do some browsing, and tell me in the comments below by April 27th what you’d spend your $50 gift card on AND how much the items you’ve picked cost. It’s okay if you go over your $50 gift card budget 🙂

2) Entries are limited to one per person / per email address / per household (or more if you score bonus entries). A random draw will be conducted on or around April 28th to select the winners, who will have 48 hours to respond before another winner is chosen in their place.

3) Entries are limited to Canadians that have reached the age of majority in their province. Quebec is not eligible to participate in this promotion.

4) Bonus Entries: Want to score up to 3 bonus entries? You can follow Orangefish on Twitter and send them a Tweet, or you can Like them on Facebook and leave a comment highlighting your favourite pick from the Orangefish website, or follow them on Pinterest and repin at least one pin. As always, please leave links (and / or usernames) to whatever bonus entries you pursue so I can credit you!
