Flash Post: Ends of the Earth
What It Is: Hah. Sometimes I think I’m being so clever with the titles of my posts, only to discover the very thing I’m writing about is already named in such a way. Anyway. It’s the last day of the month and I’m sharing a bit of a splurge with you. Dramatic solid wood bookends made with layered blocks of wood to put the life cycle of our planet into sharp focus – as well as look darn pretty. Each set of bookends is capped off with a micro ecosystem in either a wintry landscape or a woodsy spring. Also available? Some very cool lamps & pencil holders in a similar, earthbound style.
Who It’s For: Your architect brother, to store all of his design books in his home office. Your soon-to-graduate niece, as a special keepsake that’ll always remind her of those years of learning. Your super stylish parents, as a lovely housewarming gift for their empty nester condo.
What It Costs: The prices vary – but most of the bookends are in the $180 – $230 range. The pencil holders meanwhile start at $39. Shipping is definitely on the expensive side depending on what you get (for the bookends it’s $50, although $25 if bought in tandem with another item) – but it’s solid wood blocks guys. Be realistic about the fact you’re buying one-of-a-kind art, not just bookends.
