Third Year’s The Charm

Birthday cupcakeHappy Birthday to me once again kids – and I’m throwing a pretty awesome ‘ house party’ to celebrate with all y’all. But first, I’m going to take this opportunity to say a few things, send out a few thank yous, and give you a tip for scoring bonus entries all month long.

In the last year, my numbers have once again climbed thanks to positive word-of-mouth and social media platforms like Pinterest and Twitter. I’m seeing tens of thousands more visitors than I did in year two of my blog, and my subscriber list is ever-increasing. This year also marked a fresh new look for my blog, one that I hope you’ve all taken note of as it changes with the seasons. But enough about me, let’s talk about the two groups of people that make this blog what it is.

First of all, a sincere thank you to all of the wonderful brands I’ve partnered up with over the past year. In my endless search to find affordable, interesting, and desirable gifts, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with massive, worldwide brands and independent artisans alike. It’s through the generosity of these brands that I’m able to get the inside scoop on the stories and history behind certain companies and the exciting products and developments ahead of them. If you were to take a look at my blog’s analytics, you’d see that people end up here (and it seems, quite a few of them stick around) because I’ve managed to find something that piques their personal interests. Diversity is one of the keys to this blog’s success – although of course, I know some topics are perennial favourites, and some have a close place in my heart.

Of course, I could have all the great ideas and finds in the world and none of it would mean a thing without you, the readers. Know that I read each and every one of your comments, and the kind words that have been shared about my writing and my research for this blog are absolutely appreciated. This blog, ultimately, is for you to discover new gift ideas (and wish list items, naturally) so you can put a smile on the faces of those people (and pets) that are most important to you.

With that in mind, here’s how you – yes you, that’s reading this – can help bridge the gap between yourselves and the brands I’m thrilled to be working with. To put it simply: the more readers I have, the more opportunities I get to do great giveaways from more and more companies. I’d love for this month to be a huge push to bring more people in the Canadian Gift Guide fold so I can start lining up some really special promotions for the holiday season. With that in mind, I’m launching a one-month subscriber drive. For every new subscriber that signs up and leaves a comment on any post this month, citing you as the person that referred them, you’ll earn a bonus entry into every single contest you enter. And trust me. It’s going to be a big ol’ party and I’ve got a lot of presents to share.

Make sense? To think of it another way, if I did 20 giveaways this month and you referred just one person, that’s 20 extra chances to win. Of course, there are no limits to how many people you refer, meaning you could potentially rack up hundreds of bonus entries when all is said and done. Oh, and as a refresher, I can see your IP addresses – so no faking referrals! You might find a few other bonus entry opportunities here and there, but this one lasts allll month long. And for the record, if you show up here because you were referred by someone else? Well, feel free to start referring your friends too.

And with that, I say get set for a rocking birthday celebration filled with special offers and amazing gift ideas perfectly suited for grads, dads, brides-to-be, and summer fun! Oh, and feel free to wish me a happy birthday in the comments below, if you feel like it 🙂

Happy Birthday!! I haven’t been here since the beginning, but I plan on sticking around for as long as you’ll have me. I think your’s is the only blog that I do read every single day. So I thank you for all your hard work, for hunting down and writing about products and companies that I never would have discovered without you and for making me look good at birthdays and special occasions where I hear “Where on earth did you find this?”
