Breakfast for Dinner Cookbook

What It Is: You know how everyone has their so-called ‘lazy meals’? Those things you whip up when you’re simply too beat to make something elaborate? For me, one of those go-to’s is ‘breakfast for dinner’ – whipping up pancakes, waffles, or even just seasoned potatoes for a delicious meal that feels delightfully off-kilter. Apparently the authors of this cookbook are on the same page: they’ve crafted a book dedicated exclusively to ‘Brinner’ – taking morning recipes and giving them a bit more heft to be served up at the dinner table. If the idea of dishes like Bacon Fried Rice, Stuffed French Toast, Mixed Vegetable Latkes, or Chicken & Biscuit Waffles floats your boat, pick this book up. The combinations are completely inventive and will definitely be a surprise whether you’re tempting the kids or hostessing a dinner party.

Who It’s For: Your brunch-lovin’ best friend, as a fun birthday gift. Your waffle maker-obsessed spouse, to give them more range with their favourite kitchen gadget. Your hostess with the mostest cousin, for some fresh new ideas she definitely hasn’t thought of: for brunch, breakfast, dinner, and everything in between.

What It Costs: $22.95 (list)

Where It’s At: Fine booksellers across the country. Or online, at places like Indigo.

I like the idea of breakfast for dinner. The rest of my family does not. But this is a great idea for a recipe book.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day – so why not have it for dinner. I love the idea.

  9. We sometimes have breakfast for dinner, this book would be nice to have around. Love pancakes for dinner sometimes, and a Egg / hash-browns / bacon or sausage sometimes as well.

Seems having a book on it makes it all the more OK. 🙂
