Flash Post: More In Store
What It Is: Cut down on kitchen prep time when you skip constant trips to the garbage to clear off your workspace. The Storage Cutting Board from West Elm features a handy built-in storage drawer where you can easily scrape away those peels and non-usable bits of food for simply disposal once you’re done slicing & dicing. Made from solid Acacia wood, it’s ideal for vegetables and fruits primarily (wood boards can be quite porous for meats and you don’t want to risk contamination). You could also use it not as a ‘garbage’, but as a place to move a particular ingredient before you start slicing up the next one.
Who It’s For: For the mom who has everything, because she’ll realize she’s always been missing this. For the chef who loves whipping up hearty garden salads, to simplify their dinner routine. For the sibling with the giant kitchen, to cut down on trips to the bin.
What It Costs: $140
Where It’s At: West Elm (online)

Can always use another wood cutting board and love the drawer idea. I could see this in my kitchen
I can definitely see this in my kitchen, love it.
I hate to say it, but this seems more like an annoyance than practical; like a gimmick. Food will get stuck in places you don’t want it to, extra stuff to wash, and really, how hard is it to push scraps off a board?
Sultra bonus entry: pinned http://pinterest.com/pin/190347521723797958/ & yes I could see it in my kitchen but not for that price
I can see this in my kitchen, love the idea.
