This holiday season it seems like one of the biggest (and most awesome for a gal like me that loves sparkle) trends is embellished sweaters and sweatshirts – the perfect combination of cuddly and crazy glam. They work for pretty much any age and can dress up an everyday pair of jeans or look casual cool in the office. Rendered primarily in sophisticated greys and blacks, these sweaters definitely don’t feel juvenile, but they also don’t skew SO festive that you can’t don them year-round. With that in mind, I’ve rounded up a few choice picks for you to choose from and add to your holiday wish list – but these are really just scratching the surface. Keep an eye out on your next shopping trip and you’ll see the trend popping up everywhere!

Jeweled Chandelier Sweatshirt – $199 @ J Crew: I feel like this is ‘the’ sweater to represent this crazy trend. It was originally available in two different shades but quickly sold out of the creamy white version, however the grey + silver rhinestone option is just as glitzy while eschewing tomboy coolness.

Embellished Geo Print Pullover – $110 @ Banana Republic: The pictures don’t do this one justice (I’ve tried it on!) With a slightly deco-inspired graphic print, the little silver chevron-shaped sequins look like tiny, glinting knives. Very bedazzling.

Dorothy Perkins Mulberry Gem Sleeve Sweater – $50 @ Hudson’s Bay Company: One of the few styles rendered in a different colour; Dorothy Perkins actually has a ton of affordable embellished sweaters and sweatshirts in a range of shades with unique details – from chains to sequins to beads.

Markus Lupfer Embellished Cotton Jersey Sweatshirt – $395 @ Net-A-Porter: If you’ve got some extra change banging around in your bank account, Net A Porter is hands down the best source for pretty jeweled sweaters, like this pink, white & sapphire necklace-inspired option.

Beaded Bouquet Neck Sweater – $69 @ LOFT: For a subtler take on the trend, this lightweight sweater features a wreath of embellishment around the neckline – always a flattering way to draw attention to your pretty face.

Studded Sweatshirt – $39 @ Joe Fresh: Two things you ought to know about this sweatshirt: one, I own it and absolutely love it. Two, I saw a doppelganger for literally 10x the price by DKNY during my research for this post. Oh yeah, and it comes in grey too.
