Catch You On The Flip Side
What It Is: A very neat hybrid set of headphones from Flips Audio that delivers awesome audio quality when you’re jamming by yourself, but can also be flipped outwards to create a portable stereo wherever you go. In other words? Buh-bye iPod dock. With sleek styling and solid sound delivery, they’re a great pick for someone who’s not quite an audiophile, but definitely a music lover.
Who It’s For: I really see this product working best for teens and students – the price point won’t make mom and dad cry if something should happen to them, and it means your kid can strap ’em on while doing homework or for an impromptu hang by the pool session with their friends after school. That being said, virtually anyone that appreciates the duality of this design and isn’t a hardcore electronics fiend (although these have been compared in sound quality to Beats) will get a kick out of this.
What It Cost: $135 for a set.
Where It’s At: You can find Flips Audio headphones in Canada at Amazon.ca
Bonus entry time – this time for my Rise Gear post that went up this week. Tell me in the comments below – what do you think of these versatile headphones? Would you buy ’em for yourself or someone you know?
We don’t have any headphones in our home, just ear buds for my husband. I think he would love these Flip Audio Headphones. He is always listening to things on his computer, but doesn’t want to disturb me.
Rise Gear bonus entry: interesting concept for these versatile headphones but I generally use ear buds at work. These would be too intrusive so I wouldn’t buy ‘em for myself nor do I have anyone specifically having such a need. Thanks
Rising gear Bonus entry I would definetly buy for myself, love to tune out the world sometimes
I think my nephews would love these and also my husband.
I think this is a great idea for music lovers – my grandkids would love a set.
Great Christmas list idea for my music loving son.
These headphones are such a great idea and love how you can flip them outward. I would get them for my son.
These are really cool, but I can’t see myself spending that much money on them for myself.
I think it is an interesting idea but I’m not sure that they would be loud enough to be good speakers. I would hope they wouldn’t go too loud since they are also headphones and I wouldn’t want my kids damaging their hearing!
I think this is a great idea, especially for teens.
i’m not on the market for new headphones right now for myself but i think it’s interesting that it could replace my ipod dock.
I’m not a teen, but I’d definitely buy these for myself. Especially for travelling long distances!
That’s such a great idea being able to transform them into speakers! I think they’d make a great gift!
My husband would love one of these!
I would buy for someone else
I think these would be great – hubby would love them
These are seriously cool. And useful. I sing barbershop, and these would come in handy at rehearsals when we’re trying to learn notes and need a quick blast of learning track.
I would buy these for myself I am in need of headphones right now, always borrow my sons. 🙂
Love it, it is so versatile.
My husband would like these
I like them and they would appeal to my daughter.
