10 for $10: Feeling Thankful Edition
Usually when October’s 10 for $10 comes around, I can’t write about Thanksgiving because it’s already passed. But this year, Thanksgiving is a little later than usual (and can’t come soon enough!) so I’m happy to be able to do a Thanksgiving-themed post. As always, all gifts are $10 or less, not including shipping or taxes. What do Thanksgiving gifts have in common you ask? Well namely, a love for food and celebration!
Red Fork Parmesan Mashed Potato Seasoning Sauce with Olive Oil & Thyme – $1.99 @ Vitacost
I love mashed taters as much as the next person – but this all-natural, preservative-free flavour booster definitely has some appeal. Use it to spice up the potatoes you’re bringing to your family potluck.
Thanksgiving Day Turkey Socks – $5.99 per pair @ Absolute Socks
No one wants to dress up like a turkey for Thanksgiving (it’s a little gruesome, no?) But you can don a festive pair of socks to show your solidarity with the prized bird – or gift a set to your always cold-footed sibling.
Wine Off Stain Remover – $5.99 @ The Stocking Stuffer Store
Did your tipsy Aunt have a glass too many? Is mom’s silk tablecloth splattered with red? Save the day and hand over a spray bottle of this miracle stain remover (that also ‘eats’ food, soda and other spills).
Pumpkin Pie Spice – $6.99 @ The Silk Road Spice Merchants
Key lesson in buying spices: get ’em fresh. That’s why a spice merchant (one located in Canada no less) hocking pumpkin pie spice is your best chance to finally defeat your sister in the war on making the best-tasting pumpkin pie ever. After reveling in your win, pass along a container as a peace offering.
‘Cook With Wine’ Tea Towel – $10 @ Indigo
What person can’t use another tea towel? If you’re headed to a casual shindig at a pal’s place this weekend, consider bringing this humorous towel alongside whatever store brought pie you also picked up.
Fire & Flavor™ Turkey Perfect Apple Sage Brining Kit – $9.99 @ Bed, Bath & Beyond
As a vegetarian, bird-eating isn’t part of my Thanksgiving regime. But even I’ll admit, this brining kit – filled with everything you need to keep a 25 lb turkey nice and moist and flavourful – sounds like it’s chockablock full of juicy flavours like apples, cranberries and sage! Drop it off with whoever’s hosting this year over the weekend – they’ll love you for it.
Thanksgiving Cupcake Combo Pack – $2.49 @ Party City
Got a coworker who loves to bake? Gift them this cute, 24-pack of cupcake liners and picks and who knows, maybe they’ll spend their holiday Monday whipping up a special spiced treat for you to enjoy once you’re back from the long weekend.
Apple on the Green Tea – $7 for 35g @ Pluck Teas
A bag of tea is always a lovely hostess gift, especially for those who don’t drink alcohol. Even if you’re just heading to your parents’ place, bring this apple-spiced tea along for a delicious post-dinner treat.
Sticko Thanksgiving Stickers – $2.96 @ Herrschners
I’ve been told sticker collecting is still a ‘thing’ amongst kids, in which case, these puffy, shimmery, oh-so-cute Thanksgiving stickers are a good way to get the kids in the spirit.
Charcoal Companion ‘Minicorn’ Corn Holders – $9.99 for four pairs @ Amazon.ca
Nothing says Thanksgiving like a cob of freshly harvested corn. These adorable corn cob holders will ensure no slippy grips as you gnash away. Another fun hostess pick.
