Top 10 Holiday Gifts Under $100
As you can see from last week’s gift guide to this one, I’ve doubled the price you may be willing to spend – although again, many of these items are a fair bit less than $100, and in many cases, can be scaled down to even be less than $50! Once we get into the $100 territory, you’re probably buying for people who are particularly close to you. Your siblings, parents, children, or spouse would all make that list. Or perhaps you’re going in on a gift with someone. Totally cool. Just like these awesome ideas.
Netflix Gift Cards – $30 & $60 Denominations
So technically speaking, this gift idea could be in the ‘Best Gifts Under $50’. But given a year’s worth of Netflix enjoyment will set you back around $100, chances are you’ll at least want to opt for the $60 gift card to bring the joys of Taystee, Frank Underwood and the entire Bluth family into your home. For the unfamiliar – climb out from under that rock now please. Netflix is Canada’s go-to streaming service for thousands of your favourite TV shows and movies, as well as dozens of original documentaries, films and TV series, including the critically-acclaimed and binge-worthy hits Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. If someone you love doesn’t have a subscription already, they will pretty much bow down and worship you like the god or goddess you are. And if they do have a subscription, well, these gift cards can be applied to them so they’ll enjoy their account for free! Available at major retail stores across Canada, including 7-11, Walmart, Sobeys, Safeway, and Loblaws.
TOMS Holiday Textures Shoes – $65+
So not every pair of shoes you see pictured above is technically part of TOMS holiday line…but they all just feel so festive don’t they? As always, one of the best parts of gifting TOMS is the fact you’re also gifting a child in need a pair of shoes. And with SO many styles available for children, men, and women, it’s easy to find a wedge, bootie, slipper, flat, or classic slip-on shoe for everyone in your family. Very few of their designs climb over the $100 mark so it shouldn’t be too tough for you to outfit the fam in some stylin’ kicks for the new year. My personal faves? Said The King Dishes – $20 each or $70 for a set of 4
I like a good humorous piece of serveware in my kitchen – but I especially love the simple elegance and wit of these meant-for-everyday-use dishes from Toronto-based Said The King (who I also featured here!) Available in a range of collections, each simple white ceramic dish features an unexpected, clever remark. Well, as a sugar-addict, my favourite is the Sugarfina Gummy Love Candy Bento Box. I saw these on Indigo once, and wanted them, but they were out of my price range. Would love to try them, though, and am sure they’re worth the money!
