First Signs of Spring

We are in the home stretch for getting out of the woods – or out of winter – and into spring. At least, that’s what I tell myself on days when my face gets hit by some not-so-friendly winter weather. Today I’m highlighting a few of my Current Covets that hint that spring is maybe not so far away after all.

First Signs of SpringFrom L to R, Top to Bottom

Nanette Lepore Swimsuits – $174 – $200-ish @ Hudson’s Bay: Confession! I obsessed over one particular Nanette Lepore swimsuit last year, but it was from an online-only retailer based in the U.S. Too wary of the online shipping and duty woes, I was heartbroken…until I discovered that Hudson’s Bay is now carrying a full line of muy bueno one pieces from the designer that are anything but frumpy. Now to pick a fave…

Derovin Bag – $55 @ Aldo: J’adore this French-inspired bag that mixes patterns for an eye-catching, oh so chic look. With dueling flowers and contrasting stripes few things say Spring like a beautiful garden-esque bag. Also available in some fun tribal / ikat prints.

Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gels – $38 @ Sephora: If you’re like me and feel like a child dipping into mom’s makeup most of the time when they slap on lipstick, then you’ll love this new collection of seven nude shades from Marc Jacobs Beauty. Having tried out the golden-brown hued ‘Moody Margot’ for myself I can tell you they smell delish (like vanilla!) and go on oh so smoothly thanks to an infusion of monoi butter. Neutrals are a fab way to update your beauty routine this spring – and there are no prettier neutrals out there!

Kiwabi Root Vanish Colouring Brushes – $53 each @ Pir Cosmetics: Looking for a fuss-free way to keep your roots at bay between salon appointments (or time to grab your signature colour for an at-home dye job)? Look no further. This brush-on formula avoids the dreaded, telltale scalp seepage and is portable enough to stash in your purse.

Morse Code Initial Necklace – $36 USD @ Baublebar: My love for customized or monogrammed pieces is well-documented on this blog. But this is a cool twist. Pick your initial and receive a simple gold-plated slab with the featured letter in morse code. Sweet and subtle.

Elsie Pumps – From $245 @ J Crew: Every girl needs a good pair of pumps – and J Crew has plenty of options this season. From crackled leather in vibrant yellow and 80s white to stunning spring shades of mint, peach and rose, the first step to updating last year’s spring finds is to invest in a cute pair of colourful shoes. If you buy a pair, be sure to accessorize with a set of KiiX.

Okay beautiful readers – tell me in the comments below. Which of my Current Covets make your covet (or gifting) list?
