High and Dry

Drybar Bestsellers TrioWhat It Is: If you’re not familiar, Drybar is a chain of salons in the U.S. that specializes in one thing and one thing only – blowouts. For us in Canada, sadly, we have to settle for their products alone – but believe it or not, with a bit of practice and use of their products, you can actually get pretty incredible results. Drybar has packaged up three of their bestselling products into a limited edition gift set, including their Hot Toddy Heat Protector, Detox Dry Shampoo (which I own a travel size of; it goes on like a spray powder to suck up excess oil), and their signature Buttercup Blow Dryer (which I also own, and highly recommend – it’s lightweight, powerful, and has multiple adjustable levels). Why bother with all this fancy hair stuff? Simple fact is, the less time you spend blow drying, the less damage is inflicted on your hair – and all three of these products can help with that to a degree (if you consider the dry shampoo may allow you to skip a day of washing your locks).

Who It’s For: Your hair-obsessed bestie, as an amazing group gift. Your mother of three girls sister, so she can groom everyone’s locks in a jiffy. Your wife, because there are few things that bother her more than a bad hair day.

What It Costs: This trio is priced at $257, although the value is over $313.

Where It’s At: Sephora, online only. In fact, I don’t think you can get Drybar goodies in stores here that I’ve seen – I’ve picked up my Drybar stuff either online or when visiting the U.S.

Speaking of haircare, how about one last bonus entry into my go-comb giveaway? Tell me in the comments below – would you splurge on this premium haircare gift set?

A good blow dryer is really worth spending the money on. I would purchase this!

My MIL wanted a hair dryer this Christmas. I looked at high end ones like BaByliss but based on reviews I just decided to get a mid-priced hairdryer. I think I’d be for likely to buy the Drybar products, than the whole kit.
Hmmmm….I wonder if you might find the odd Drybar product at Winners?

  8. Lindsey says:

Too expensive, so I’ll pass on this one!

  9. nicolthepickle says:

I can understand that it would be good, but I don’t dry my hair with a hairdryer often enough to invest the dollars. I’d rather buy a nice pair of shoes.

  10. kiraali says:

I don’t bother to blowdry my hair more than a few times a year, so no, it wouldn’t be a good investment for me.

too steep for me. Anyways, in summer I get a really good cut (my hairstylist trained under Vidal Sassoon) and air dry. That works for me.
