Planter Box

Twig Terrarium DIY KitWhat It Is: If you haven’t noticed, as the weather has been warming up I’ve been featuring a lot more green, garden-y ideas. Case in point, this super cute brand based out of NYC, Twig Terrariums. In a nutshell, the brand sells ready-made terrariums, which are basically little mini plant-based ecosystems that you can use to bring the outdoors in. Their array of terrariums is pretty impressive – from giant glass palaces to petite desktop styles to quirky shapes like dinosaurs or beakers. But if you really want to get your hands dirty, then be sure to check out one of their DIY Kits. The one pictured above a handy guide to growing your own moss (Twig Terrariums takes pride in the particular variety they supply you), all the layers required, a glass container, and a cute critter to keep your plants company. In general though, if you’re keen on growing your own little world, just peruse the site – they’ve got TONS of options.

Who It’s For: Your green-thumbed friend, so they can keep their garden growing at work. Your sibling that just moved into a new home, so they can practice keeping something other than themselves alive. Your parents, as a nice anniversary gift.

What It Costs: Prices are all over the map. The kit above is $75 USD, but there are cheaper DIY products and more expensive ready-made ones that can climb up in price to over $300. Shipping to Canada is typically an extra $25-$50.

Where It’s At: The Twig Terrariums website.

I like alliteration. So how about a BONUS entry into my Tangle Teezer giveaway off of this Twig Terrarium post? Tell me in the comments below – which terrarium would you pick? Visit the Twig Terrarium link above to pick your fave and tell me who it’s for.
