Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Kids

And my final stocking stuffer gift ideas post this season is dedicated to the little ones – kids of all ages. Here are 10 great gift ideas to put a smile on your little one’s face this season.

Car Journey Games

Car Journey Games Set – $21.95 @ Rolo
Are you heading to grandma and grandpa’s place come Christmas morning? Planning a getaway somewhere else this upcoming year? Keep the kids’ boredom at bay with this fun set of games to keep them occupied while sitting in the backseat. Small enough to stash in the glovebox, this compact set contains seven different car games that’ll keep the kids occupied for hours. Heck, they might even be inspired to play some of them when not on the road.

Lush Holiday Fun

Lush Fun – $6.95 each
This holiday season, Lush even has great gift ideas for the little one. Fun is their proprietary blend of moldable soap. It can be rolled, stacked, and shaped in any which way you like – and of course, used to scrub up nicely. They have three fun and festive sets to make bath time playtime too – Snakes and Ladders, Snowman and Santa. Simply break apart the colour-coded Fun and get creative! While Fun can be used as a soap, it also works as a shampoo or it can be crumbled under running water for a fruity bubble bath.

Dinner Winner Tray

Dinner Winner Kids Plate – $21.95 @ Danna Bananas
This is the gift idea that gives back to parents too! Designed to look like a slightly retro, playful game board, parents can use this serving plate / tray to encourage their little ones to actually play with their food. Simply put a portion of food in each compartment and encourage the kids to gobble it up. If they successful make it to the final compartment, they’ll get to unveil a reward for finishing up their meal (i.e. dessert!) The anticipation alone will surely motivate your child to wolf down those peas and carrots.

Koontz Kaleidoscope Kit

Koontz Kaleidoscope Kit – $9.99 @ Mastermind Toys
Inspire a future scientist in your household with this cute kit designed to put the magic of science and light in their hands. Kids follow instructions to build their very own kaleidoscope from scratch, which, let’s face it, is one of the coolest knicknacks all kids are drawn to at the toy store. If your child loves this one or if you’re shopping for multiple kids, rest assured, there are actually a bunch of Koontz kits available at Mastermind Toys to sharpen their brains while they’re having oh so much fun.

Creatibles Eraser Kit

Creatibles DIY Eraser Kit – $12.95 @ Indigo
Part crafty gift idea, part awesome school supplies pick – this DIY kit has the makings of a fantastic stocking stuffer. Containing 12 super moldable shades of eraser clay, your kid can dream up anything and everything and make it into an eraser (stick a pencil in your creation to make sure it’ll fit if you want a pencil topper). After you’re done sculpting, bake the eraser in the oven and presto, you’ll have a super smooth, one-of-a-kind eraser to impress your classmates with.

Kinderville Little Bites

Kinderville Little Bites Snack Pouch – $9.99 @ 2 Blue Ducks
Not every gift has to be a plaything, as this post demonstrates. Gift your kids with something they’ll totally use but will still feel special because they received it as a gift – like this BPA-free silicon snack pouch. Designed to stash your kids’ favourite nibbles, this handy little reusable pouch is an eco-friendly way to keep munchies at bay. Available in a host of neon hues, it’s easy enough for the kids to use themselves, thanks to the interlocking knob and hole design. Plus it’s machine washable, as a bonus boon to parents.

Snow Colour NOUWEE

Snow Colour – $23.99 @ NOUWEE
This brand elicits a big ‘squee!’ from me – and I look forward to sharing even more of their products with you in the coming weeks. For now though, a fun gift idea for the kids’ stockings. This little box contains three containers of all-natural, biodegradable dyes that you can sprinkle onto your snow, essentially turning Canada’s winter wonderland into your own personal canvas. The possibilities are endless: Create rainbow-hued snowballs for a wintery take on paintball. Create a welcome message for a loved one. Make a technicoloured snowman. Make elaborate designs with a festive motif. Best of all – the whole family can join in and help make this anything but a white Christmas.

Shopkins Season 3

Shopkins Season 3 12-Pack – $12.99 @ Toys “R” Us
So if you’re unfamiliar with Shopkins, it’s basically a line of collectibles that you kids can collect and trade and put on display. Ah yes, teaching kids at a young age about the joys of acquiring ‘things’. Anyway, apparently it is a big thing with the little ones, so be a ‘cool’ parent if you’ve got a Shopkins collector and gift ’em with a dozen of the latest and greatest items from the brand. There are indeed plenty of Shopkins gift sets out there, all right-priced for the stocking, so gift away parents!

The Body Shop Treats Gift Sets

Treats Gift Sets – $10 each @ The Body Shop
These cute little cubes are so easy to stuff into a stocking – but they pack plenty of kid-friendly bath products inside. Each little cube contains a shower cream and body milk, as well as a bath pouf to get lathered up. While I’d moreso suggest this for the older kids in your family – I remember by the time I was 8 or 9 I already had my fave The Body Shop scents picked out – there’s no reason why a younger kid wouldn’t be just as excited to receive some new goodies too. Available in Coconut, Moringa, Fuji Green Tea, Strawberry, and kid-approved Satsuma.

copernicus-crystal-growing-reef-hero_1024x1024

Coral Reef Crystal Growing Kit – $14.99 @ Brain Stand
Another somewhat brainy, somewhat artsy gift idea to wrap things up! These cool terraforming kits result in totally unique crystals, based on the temperature of your house and the humidity. Regardless, they delivery beautiful results in short time – you’ll start to see crystals form in mere hours and they’ll essentially last for as long as your little ones can keep their hands to themselves (speaking from my experience; my dad had a crystal Christmas tree and someone touched it weeks later and it crumbled to bits). A fresh idea for that wannabe marine biologist.
