What It Is: We’re only a few days in and I’m already swept up with national pride and Olympics fever. I watched a bunch of swimming this weekend and it made me want to hop back in the pool – which means taking a look at my swimwear. Enter Nettle’s Tale, a Vancouver-based swimwear brand that prides itself on creating swimsuits for real women – and celebrating whatever body type you’ve got! I imagine only 1% of us can actually relate to that photoshopped chick in a typical swimsuit store – so it’s pretty cool to see girls that look like you and I in their campaigns. With handy size charts that give you fit tips (ex: one suit I looked at noted it’s perfect for smaller-chested gals) and plenty of one-piece and two-piece options in a range of flattering cuts, including limited editions, the only downer about Nettle’s Tale is how quickly their styles sell out!
Who It’s For: Yourself, for some body self-love. Your sister, to spread the love. Your niece, who is terrified of swimsuits otherwise.
What It Costs: Totally on point with other swimwear brands – one-pieces are about $150, tops are about $80, bottoms are about $70.
Where It’s At: Shop online here.
