Sears Back to School

What It Is: Back to school clothes shopping is basically a right of passage: Who do you want to be this year? But for parents, it can be a hard hit on their wallets – the average parent apparently shells out about $400 per kid at back to school time. Ouch. The good news? Retailers like Sears are stepping up to the plate, offering clothes, bags and shoes that’ll last your kids the year at a super affordable price.

I’ve rounded up some of my favourite items from their back to school lineup, although keep in mind these particular styles are moreso geared for big kids. If you’re shopping for little ones, there’s still tons of cool gifting inspo, like licensed bags for just $10 and kids’ jeans for under $15. With characters they love and on trend styles, it’s easy to upgrade your child’s back-to-school style with just a few key pieces. In fact, Sears is really pushing top-to-toe outfits for as little as $65 (both of the looks I picked out above are under $75). Styles kids want + prices parents want to pay = one happy family.

Who It’s For: Your child of course, as a starting point. Your niece or nephew, when mom and dad have tapped out their back-to-school budget. Your best friend, because good news should travel fast and far.

What It Costs: Most items are under $50 (a handful of backpacks and shoes are over), but in general you can snag a back-to-school outfit for under $65.
