Gather Round

forest-feast-gatherings

What It Is: My family is asking me for gift ideas for the upcoming holidays plus my birthday, and I’m struggling a bit so far! But one thing I’d definitely be interested in is this new installment from food blogger Erin Gleeson, whose original cookbook, The Forest Feast, was filled with incredibly simple yet incredibly yummy recipes. In fact, that book houses one of my all time fave recipes – Corn & Cauliflower Tacos. Just thinking about it…yum.

I was jazzed then, to see a new cookbook entitle The Forest Feast Gatherings, just in time for the holiday season. I actually felt like the first book had plenty of group hosting recipe inspo (there’s an entire section on drinks!) but it appears that Gleeson has bumped up the class factor a smidge without upping the amount of work or effort to make her food. Bonus points for including a vegan and gluten-free section; I typically shy away from vegetarian cookbooks as I think they rely too heavily on eggs and cheese, but I’m sure I’ll find some great, creative, and endlessly yummy ideas in this gorgeously designed cookbook.

Who It’s For: Me! Hah. Also, your favourite vegetarian. The very best hostess. And your mom, who loves the ‘art’ of cooking that comes to life in these pages.

What It Costs: $43.95 list, but it’s available for less online.

Where It’s At: Your favourite bookseller or buy it at Amazon.ca.
