Greener Pastures: Flowerink Stationery Is Reinventing Greeting Cards

FlowerInk English Cards

What It Is: I love greeting cards, I really do – but as I continually aim to declutter I often find myself wavering about what to do with cards. Recycling them hurts the heart a little for some reason. Luckily there’s a Canadian brand called Flowerink Stationery that’s looking to take the sting away with their line of plantable cards.

Illustrated and printed by Mélanie Girard-Brisson in Montreal, these whimsical cards feature simple designs with a sweet message, available in both English and French. The insides are blank to give you a chance to write your own thoughts. When your recipient is ready to part ways with your sentiment, these cards are made from post-consumer recycled material embedded with 7 types of North American wildflowers. All they have to do is plant it (and the envelope, which is also compostable), add some soil and water, and watch it grow! Talk about a gift that really blooms.

Who It’s For: Anyone you’re sending a greeting card to – Flowerink has cards for birthdays, babies, lovers, and more.

What It Costs: Each card retails for $8, which is a bit more than a ‘store bought’ option, but keep in mind it doubles a bouquet of flowers!

Where It’s At: You can shop Mélanie’s designs online here (shipping is $5 max across Canada) or peruse her list of stockists to check ’em out in person.

2) Entries are limited to one per person / per email address / per household (or more if you score bonus entries). A random draw will be conducted on or around October 7, 2017 to select the winner(s), who will have 48 hours to respond before another winner is chosen in their place.
