Glistening Once Again: Best Beauty Christmas Gifts 2017
Hey hey, it’s time for one of my most popular posts of the season (if not the year) – my annual rundown of some of the most get-gorgeous beauty gift ideas for the holidays this 2017. From limited edition sets to indie Canadian beauty brands you oughta know, there is something for everyone in today’s list. Well, except maybe the dudes. Every year Sephora brands their beauty essentials – cases, brushes, bags, and more – to a different festive look. This year, they went with ‘Dark Rainbow’ – an iridescent, unicorn-esque style that is oh so enchanting however it’s applied. from glittery train cases for total beauty organization on the go to pint-sized purse-friendly brush sets in sparkly clutches to accessories like a compact mirror, brush, or palette, you can’t really go wrong picking up one of these goodies to update your best friend’s beauty cadre.
Joe Fresh Gel Look Nail Polish – $5 each @ Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstores
I love me a gel nail polish but I do not love the work that goes into getting and taking off a gel manicure. Luckily I can skip the pain and the cost by using Joe Fresh’s gel look polishes, which promise a high shine finish without using a lamp (or a top coat!) With chip-free colour of up to 14 days, this sweet beauty gift idea is great for tacking onto a bigger gift or using as a stocking stuffer. And with 8 new colours for their holiday line – like pearly Frosted and evergreen Dark Pine, they feel extra seasonally appropriate.
House of Lashes Holiday Gem Set – $31 @ Sephora
Thinking ahead to New Year’s Eve, this little kit makes a lovely stocking stuffer or gift for your hot date that night. It contains one set of luxury lashes in a metallic case, plus two latex-free lash adhesives in both white and black – the latter of which is great for creating a seamless look with your cats eyeliner job. Derek Lam 10 Crosby Scent Sticks – $49 each @ Sephora and Sephora.ca
I am so intrigued by this beauty gift idea – and surprised it hasn’t crossed my radar before! These purse-friendly perfumes are indeed solid, designed to be glided onto the skin at your favourite scent spots like the decolletage or wrists. Coming in five sensual scents, each scent stick is inspired by a unique aspect of New York, like ‘Blackout’, a spicy fragrance inspired by NYC’s 2003 blackout. Each scent stick is perfect for tossing in your gym bag, traveling (no worries at security!), or simply taking a fave scent on the go with you – although the brand does promise a long-lasting aroma so you can smell amazing all day long.
Snow Ball Face Bag – $59 @ M.A.C.
This year’s holiday collection from M.A.C. is very rose gold-y – which I am obviously smitten over. The highlight of the entire line is quite literally that – their Extra Dimension Skinfinish gives your skin a shimmery glow wherever it’s applied for that candlelit look. While a lot of the collection is already sold out (!) you can still nab great pieces like this little set, which also includes a sparkly go-anywhere clutch perfect for partying, and a fluffy brush to apply that get-gorgeous powder!

What are your #hairgoals for 2018 my friends? It all starts, I tells ya, with the right tools in hand – including Goody’s line of affordable brushes. Although all of your articles are great, I love the beauty round-ups. I also love that your list features Canadian brands (go Canada!), as we don’t get enough of that. That’s actually the reason I joined this list. The articles always give me new Canadian brands to explore, and this one is no different. I enjoyed reading about Bkind from Montreal. The Warsh Cloth was also new to me, as was Derek Lam and many others. I only wish Sephora was cruelty-free. Thanks for the great ideas (I found others in your earlier pet gift post, too)! I will be following some of these companies. I wasn’t able to get the advent beauty calendar I was looking for (all sold out), so I’m entering this as my Merry Christmas and Happy New Year beauty gift (hopefully) 🙂
