Santa’s Shortlist: Fisher-Price Gift Ideas for the Perfect Playdate

So I’ve covered off an entire gift guide for kids, as well as one for babies and toddlers this year, but I couldn’t resist taking one last dip into the kid-friendly pool with a look at some super fun and creative ideas from Fisher-Price. I have to say, the brand has done an incredible job of staying relevant while staying true to their roots; toys that educate and inspire while being kind to parents, with many items designed to ‘grow’ with your child both mentally and physically. While it was SUPER tough to winnow down some favourites from their holiday gift guide, these are some of my favourite Fisher-Price gift ideas out there! As a heads up, you can easily find most Fisher-Price items at Walmart and Toys “R” Us!

Laugh & Learn Servin’ Up Fun Food Truck – $99.99
It feels like every kid out there at some point wants a play kitchen to imitate mom and dad – but what about an entire kitchen on wheels? Capitalizing on the food truck trend for grown-ups, this awesome play center will keep your toddler busy as they work the register, prep orders on the light-up grill, and ensure waste is taken care of with the shape-matching recycling bin. With Three Smart Stages to advance the toy’s capabilities as your child grows, new songs, sounds, and phrases are introduced. An awesome choice for inspiring role playing while teaching your pint-sized entrepreneur the ropes of running their own little meal business on (faux) wheels. Be sure to check out the glowing reviews on the Fisher-Price site too!

Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat with Toy Tray – $59.99
Shopping for a new baby or expecting parents? This is a great gift idea that pairs practicality with fun! Simply slip your child into the comfy yet secure seat and they can practice sitting on their own, while being kept busy with the included set of toys within reach. When you’re ready to share a snack with them, simply remove the toy tray and you’ve revealed a little snack cubby. Best of all, this handy chair actually folds totally flat, saving you space when not in use. I personally know of more than one person who has called this gadget a total lifesaver in their household, so consider it a present just as much for the parents as the tots!

Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Crawl Around Car – $69.99
This stationary car is almost too cute for words, whether you buy it in blue or pink! Not only is it adorable, it’s loaded – and I mean loaded – with features to spark your kids curiosity. With 75 built-in songs and phrases to fuel their learning, this is another toy in the Fisher-Price Smart Stages line-up, meaning it can be adapted as your kids intellect evolves, all the way from six to eighteen months! Honk the horn, use the wipers, shift gears, turn on lights and more – even if the destination is your living room, this is yet another creative role playing way for your kid to be just like mom and dad, just hopefully without any wee-sized road rage.

Kick & Play Piano Gym – $59.99
A lot of baby toys aren’t really usable until the kid is already six months old – and even then, for a limited time. Not so with this multi-stage toy, which can be used right from birth. Start by laying your little one down where they can play with the dangling overhead toys and kick their feet to generate tunes with the piano keys at their toes. Once they’re ready to flip onto their bellies, you can move the toys to the floor where they can enjoy some face time with the built-in mirror. As they get older and can sit on their own, the piano swivels up, with the mat being a comfy place to rest while channeling their inner Mozart. And finally, a baby on the move can grab the piano separately and make music wherever they’re roaming.

Think & Learn Smart Cycle – $169.99
Remember when I said I respected Fisher-Price for staying with it? A lot of their toys are totally in line with what today’s parents (and kids) are looking for; with toys geared toward STEM and in this case, fitness! Designed for toddlers and preschoolers, simply sync this toy up with a tablet or TV and your kids can go on all kinds of immersive adventures that encourage them to pedal and steer, while also learning! With tons of games to choose from, the system actually responds to your child’s familiarity and skill level; the more they play, the more challenging the games become, pushing them to push harder and learn more.

Intrigued by the Smart Cycle? Well good news my friends – you could win one for your household! Here’s how to enter for your chance to win this killer toy gift idea:
