Find of the Month: Ms & Mrs Survival Kits

It’s hard to believe, but April means wedding (and the associated shower events) season is upon us once again. This month’s mega-find is a fantastic choice for brides-to-be to spoil their maidens and mates respectively. Alternatively, you could scoop one up for the bride herself, as a cute but practical addition to their wedding day roster.

Ms & Mrs is a mother-daughter business that specializes in creating emergency kits for the on-the-go generation. Containing everything you need for a range of situations, the kits start small with the Minimergency series (above, $12-ish). Take the word emergency with a grain of salt. Metallic first aid kits these are not (although they do contain bandaids). Essentially the kits are designed to circumvent those super awkward social situations where you realize you forgot to put on deodorant, or a freak rainstorm is wreaking havoc on your updo, or you chipped a nail minutes before going into a job interview. Simply whip out your kit and apply the mini-stick of deodorant, spritz some hairspray on, and use the nail polish remover to wipe your digits clean.

The company is probably best known for their wedding collection, which includes two bride-centric sets, a groom kit, a bridesmaid set, and for those (lovingly) meddling moms, a mother-of-the-groom and a mother-of-the-bride set containing identical items but different packaging (prices range from $25-$50). Stock up and distribute them at your rehearsal dinner for a sweet gift that will not only make you the most prepared wife-to-be on the planet, but also have plenty of long-term use for your giftees.

The fun doesn’t stop there either. Maybe you’ve got a sister heading to a major cheerleading meet. Or your best friend is nearing her due date. Or your niece just got accepted into college. Ms & Mrs has plenty of kits for these and other occasions that tackle the essentials in sweet and sleek packaging. The company doesn’t have direct shipping to Canada from their website, but Sephora.com and Amazon.com are just a couple of places online I’ve spotted the sets. Also check your local gift shops, particularly if they have a wedding gift registry, and you should be set.
