In The Fold
The MOMA store is pretty much a golden gold mine for gift ideas. However it’s based in the US and doesn’t have the clearest of clear shipping policies for Canada (although I’ve been promised it’s quite possible at not painfully exorbitant rates).
Anyway, I’ve picked out today’s gift idea from the store mostly because I’ve been spending time lately thinking about the intentional artistry of decorating an office in a certain way. Namely that I really appreciate innovation for office staples – like the business card holder pictured above. Made of PVC and metal, this broccoli-inspired holder allows you to slip in notes, key contact cards, and even photos to remind you of post-work greener pastures. Looks lovely and has a pretty practical purpose? Sweet. It’s a cool conversation starter as well, unlike say, embarrassing photos of your kids or some sort of generic sculpture of an angel. It’s also just $24 – so if you’ve got a friend who’s started a new job or a boss you want to suck up to thank, then check this puppy out.
