Consider me YOUR friend this Father’s Day with today’s suggestion. If dear ol’ dad (or your hubby) is a fan of The Beatles, then check out the gorgeous new coffee table book that gives you a fly-on-the-wall view of the fab four via Linda McCartney: Life In Photographs ($46 on Amazon.ca). Born Linda Eastman, this aspiring photographer crossed paths with Sir Paul McCartney and spawned a romance that lasted three decade, four children, and still resonates even after Linda’s tragic passing.

The collection is drawn from an archive of over 200,000 personal and professional photographs, including portraits of other huge artists, behind-the-scenes snaps of The Beatles, and private photos of the McCartney family.

That’s collection is anything but unauthorized – apparently the entire McCartney family had a hand in selecting the photos that made it in the finished book. Paul and world-famous photographer Annie Liebovitz also contribute forwards to the collection. Obviously this is a great keepsake for Beatles fans, but really just music fans in general from the era that Linda’s photos dominate from – the 60s and 70s. Beautiful and perfectly priced for Father’s Day, this tome is newly available at all major booksellers across the nation.
