Preview: I’m working on a post on ideas to help you stretch small gift-giving budgets. When you’re looking at $25 and under – typically the range for friends, Secret Santas, cousins, et al. – it can be tricky to find things that won’t break the bank. Ideally you want to give someone more than one thing, cause as gorgeous as that $24 lip gloss might look, smell, and taste – it’s still a little sad to JUST open a lip gloss right?
Enter one such suggestion that fits the bill for affordability: Topbox, a new Canadian company that handpicks four luxury sized beauty samples based on a custom beauty profile and delivers them right to your friend or family members’ door for $10 a month – shipping included! Suddenly that $25 budget has scored you four items, and you haven’t even gone through half your cash.
Now, there are a few other companies in Canada offering a similar service. But if the Topbox Facebook wall is anything to go by, or their list of featured brands, then this is definitely the company you’ll want to gift your girlfriends with. These are top-of-the-line brands like you would find in Sephora, and samples that would be pretty much impossible to get otherwise. And if your giftee finds something they really love, the full-size products are available for purchase directly through the Topbox website. Hello future gift ideas for birthdays!
And if you’re looking to spend a little more than $10, Topbox is a monthly subscription that can be cancelled at any time. So spend $60 on mom and treat her till Mother’s Day, or give five of your best friends a month’s subscription for a taste of the high life. Gentlemen – consider giving your ladies a year’s worth of pampering for just $120.
As I alluded to, Topbox is generating all kinds of buzz, and rightfully so. Their boxes are selling like hotcakes – so much so that they’re sold out for the next two months – but I’ve worked some Canadian Gift Guide magic and managed to reserve a December Topbox for one lucky reader to win. Keep it for yourself, or split the goods for stocking stuffers or add-ons for your friend’s Christmas gifts. To enter:

3) Entries are limited to Canadians that have reached the age of majority in their province. Quebec is not eligible to participate in this promotion.

I love using foundation to have an even look. I have also started to use primer which I find really helps the foundation look better.
My no. 1 beauty essential, if using only one item, is blush in the same shade as my natural blush, which makes all the difference between looking washed out and looking vibrant and healthy.
My number one beauty essential is black liquid eyeliner, preferably waterproof so that I can run through the rain without panda eyes afterwards.

If my face is dry, it doesn’t look its best no matter what makeup I put on it! So I’d say moisturizer is my number one beauty essential.
My essential is powder foundation
I really like full luscious lips on my girl, plus nice eyeliner and mascara. A woman that takes her time to look good for me makes me feel fortunate.
Number one beauty essential – Mascara. If I have to run out of the house and only have time for one thing, it’s mascara. It’ll instantly make me look more awake and bright eyed.
