More At Sephora

I – and this blog – are no stranger to Sephora, aka beauty mecca. But here’s what. A lot of people I talk to really don’t know what all they have in store at Sephora. After scouring the shelves (and swooning), I picked out a range of products to demonstrate what all they’ve got, and how you can easily please a few of the ladies in your life if you choose to do your holiday shopping there. With nearly 30 locations across the country and easy peasy online shopping (order by the 10th and you can still guarantee your order via regular shipping!), as long as the person has the slightest inkling or interest in beauty products, you’ll be set! And without further ado, here are my awards for the best of the best in Sephora shopping this season!

Note: all prices are quoted in Canadian dollars. If you see any price discrepancies on the website, this is likely why.

Best Stocking Stuffer: Sephora Color Wand $12

Why I Love It: The price, naturally. You get six glitzy, glimmery glosses in one convenient wand, making it easy to adjust your look while you’re on the go. Plus there’s four choices – go for subtle, shimmery Hydra (nudes),  gorgeous, girly Sacred Heart (pinks and purples), cool berry Blue, and warm, sunny Yellow.
Who It’s For: Your girlfriend, daughter, nieces, best friends. This is a sweet gift that gives you a serious amount of bang for your buck.

Best in Makeup: Benefit The Big 10 $38

Why I Love It: Hands down I’d say this is probably the most beloved beauty brand out there right about now. If I raided the makeup cupboards of my friends, I’d expect to find at least one thing from Benefit, who’s known for their incredibly innovative products as much as their cutesy, girly branding and packaging. This set combines ten of their most beloved products in luxury sample sizes, making them easy to throw into your purse, bring when traveling, or use to simply introduce yourself to one of the best beauty brands around. Personally I’m loving the pretty pink Dandelion blush and the shimmery High Beam highlighter for your cheeks and brow bone – grab the set to find your faves among two blushes, two lip / cheek stains, three primers, two highlighters and a concealer.
Who It’s For: Makeup junkies will flip out for this set – it’s great for on-the-go goodies or the chance to experiment. The price point makes it ideal for your closest friends and siblings.

Best in Nails: Nails Inc. Glitterati Collection $30

Why I Love It: If the person your buying for doesn’t have the dosh to spend on a weekly manicure, then give them the next best thing with luxury nail polishes like this limited edition set that’s 100% exclusive to Sephora. The British brand is beloved by both models on the runway and fashion editors, so if your gal pal is serious about her cuticles, this glittery three-pack is just the ticket. Layer ’em with other shades or let ’em shine on their own with clear & silver Halton Garden, Midas-inspired Chelsea Embankment, and berry-licious London Bridge.
Who It’s For: Your fashionista friend that can be found her nose buried in a fashion mag – when she’s not out shopping of course. Or buy the set and split it up among three of your besties.

Best in Bath: Philosophy Sweet Kisses & Merry Wishes Set $47

Why I Love It: Um, this should surprise approximately no one. Philosophy is, hands down, my favourite bath company. Their food-inspired scents are so damn realistic you’ll be hard-pressed not to smear the Peppermint Bark lip gloss on your lips and gobble it down, and morning showers with the heavenly scent of fresh-baked Sugar Sprinkles Funnel Cake wafting in the air is pretty hard to beat. So is the price of this amazing set, which features four matching sets of body washes and lip glosses in the most festive scents the brand has – with vanilla-infused gold-tinted Old Fashioned Eggnog, girly and sparkly pink Sugar Sprinkles Funnel Cake, luxe and crisp Peppermint Bark, and star-of-the-party dramatic Pomegranate Bubbly.
Who It’s For: The lady in your life that loves to lather it up – and shine all day long. Again, this is another super idea that can be split up for each of your closest friends, cousins, siblings, etc.

Best in Fragrance – tokidoki Mini Rollerball Set – $22

Why I Love It: Naturally, the cuteness factor comes into play here. tokidoki actually has Italian origins, but it’s definitely Japanese inspired with the anime line of characters that adorn everything from a glittery eyeshadow palette to charm-laden brushes. I also love that you get six purse (and plane!) friendly fragrances for whatever mood you’re feeling. No matter what, all of the scents are light and crisp with fruity notes from peach skin and pear blossom through to classic, earthy tones like sheer jasmine petals and crystallized woods.
Who It’s For: The gal on the go, the fairweather friend, the in-love-with-cute sister or daughter.

Truthfully I was hard-pressed to pick just one fragrance gift idea from tokidoki. They’ve got one of the most expansive fragrance lines I’ve ever seen from a (primarily) cosmetics company, with full-size rollers, solid perfumes, scent sticks and more. If you’re curious to try ’em for yourself, you’re in luck: I’ve got two tokidoki solid fragrance keychains to give away (valued at $31 a piece) in dark and devillish Adios and pretty-in-punk Ciao Ciao. Wanna win?
