Wedding Bell Bliss
I feel like I’ve been writing a fair number of wedding posts lately – and that’s not without reason. For one, it’s still high wedding season. With more and more brides choosing to get married in the proverbial ‘Indian Summer’ months, I’ll bet a fair number of you still have I Do’s on your social to do’s in the next few months. For another, I myself am newly engaged! And with that, I’m looking forward to bringing you a bunch of extra little wedding-related ideas over the next year, as I dive deeper into this exciting world of gift-giving, and of course, celebrating.
Today, I thought it would be fun to highlight five unique products I’ve spotted so far to make any bride (or groom’s!) wedding day extra blissful. These are things that fall outside of a bridal emergency kit, yet are completely practical and will be incredibly well-received on one of the busiest and most amazing days of any gal’s life. Onwards!
‘I Do’ Crystal Shoe Stickers in Blue – $12.80 @ Your Happily Ever After
Maid of Honour types, pay attention here: how cute would these be as a way to incorporate the infamous ‘Something Blue’ into the bride’s ensemble? Subtle in a secret way, but still glitzy enough for the big day, these are a cute way to pay tribute to the tradition, without busting the bank or throwing in a colour that’s not part of your overall scheme. Plus you’ll get some cute photo ops, like this one! Fair warning – don’t spring this on the bride the day of her wedding. Chances are she’ll have figured out the ‘Something’ gambit by that point, so surprise her a ways before for a big smiley moment.
In Case Of Cold Feet Sock Wrap – $5 @ Love and Found
One cute emerging trend I’ve heard of is the bride giving the groom some special socks to cap off his dapper tux – the idea being you’re warding off ‘cold feet’. Be crystal clear with your intentions with this designed sock sleeve / pseudo-card. Slip it to the Best Man (or get one of your bridesmaids to cross ‘enemy’ lines to hand it over for you) as a sweet way to show you’re thinking of him, even when you’re apart.
Custom Mrs. Slouchy Pullover – $32.95 @ Custom Glam Girl
Whether she’s dressing down for the reception or simply wants to get wrapped up in something cozy for her Honeymoon plane ride, any bride will feel loved when wrapped in this snuggly, custom, stylish sweater – customized with her new last name! Even if she’s headed for the tropics, never underestimate the power of an air conditioned plane, or even a cool evening. And besides, it’s not like she’s not going to be a Mrs. anytime soon right? Adorbs.
The SoleMates High Heeler – $9.95 a pair @ Bridal Stores & Retailers Nationwide
Who knew weddings were so focused on feet? Really though, I couldn’t write this post about helpful extras without highlighting these genius shoe savers. If you’re planning to take a step into the great outdoors at any point on your wedding day (or for that matter, graduations, formal events, or anything you’d need heels for) may I suggest slipping on a pair of High Heelers? They’ll keep your fab footwear from sinking into the ground – making it easier for you to work the camera, and keeping your special shoes in fantastic shape.
MANE TEEZE by T&M Hair Perfume – $34
This is a lovely gift that can actually go multiple ways. You can gift it to your bridesmaids as an extra little pampering present, or the bridesmaids could stash it in a ‘survival kit’ to help the bride get through her big day. What is it you ask? Well, for the uninformed, regular perfume is seriously harsh on your hair. As tempting as it might be to spritz your signature scent on your locks to let it linger all day – RESIST! Instead, opt for a few quick spritzes of these uber-gentle, uber-long-lasting formula, available in three delish scents – Social Butterfly (a sugary sweet vanilla), Haut Mess (luxe chocolate and caramel), and Black Widow (intoxicating amber) – this also happens to be a gift that’ll go the extra mile past your wedding day. Toss it in your gym bag for a post-workout refresher, or give it a few quick spritzes after a marathon cooking session or visit to the coffee shop. Plain and simple – it not only neutralizes overpowering scents, it smells amazing.
Want some hair perfume for yourself? One of my readers is going to be the lucky winner of a bottle of the Social Butterfly fragrance, which was recently sampled in Glymm bags across the nation. Here’s how you enter:
1) Leave a comment by September 19th with the MAIN TEEZE scent you’d most like to try.
2) Entries are limited to one per person / per email address / per household (or more if you score bonus entries). A random draw will be conducted on or around September 20th to select the winner, who will have 48 hours to respond before another winner is chosen in their place.
3) Entries are limited to Canadians that have reached the age of majority in their province. Quebec is not eligible to participate in this promotion.
4) Bonus Entry: Leave comments on new, non-contest posts that go up over the contest period. Tag them with #cgg please! You’ll earn one bonus entry per post comment (i.e. even if you leave five comments on one new post, you’ll only earn one bonus entry, but if you do five comments across five new posts, you’ll earn five entries).
