I don’t know about where you live, but where I’m currently stationed it’s been a very wintery winter. And to that end, I’ve heard horror stories of snowfalls shutting down metropolises and bone-chilling mornings in the -40’s across the nation. Yikes. My mom instilled in me at a pretty young age that given we’re a climate where you wear coats (and mitts and toques) for about half the year, it’s okay to not only spend a little more on your outerwear, but to have multiples. Although the company is based in Boston, they actually draw their inspiration from much, much further away.

The company was founded after a trip to Nepal and the discovery of talented artisans weaving elegant silk scarves and snug knit caps by hand. Inspired not only by the artistry, but the work ethic, entrepreneurs Marion & Sanjay saw an opportunity to create a chic line of winter accessories that would allow the folks in Nepal to make a decent living, and the heads of North Americans to be warm and stylish. Genius! Hats in general really are a fail safe gift idea. As I alluded to, winterwear is a category of clothing that never goes out of style for Canadians, and the price point makes it totally accessible whether you’re shopping for Great Aunt Suzy or your very best friend Stacey.
