Flash Post: Honestly
What It Is: Truly, one of my favourite gift ideas over the last while: designer Lauren Horn has started a hand-lettering pet project where she begins a concept on paper and then translates it into the digital realm. The subject? All those little white lies we tell ourselves as women, translated into beautiful script drawings that would look just peachy in your walk-in closet, bathroom, or even kitchen. I kind of see them as a 21st century refresh of those (still) ubiquitous memes of 1950s housewives or line drawings coupled with a sarcastic message. Still – the sharp design + hilarious messages make for one kick ass gift idea.
Who It’s For: Your best friend, to reflect whatever her number one vice is on her birthday. Your mom, to show you’ve finally seen the wisdom in her ways, however tongue-in-cheek. Your coworker, to brighten up her office and her mood on those not-so-good days.
What It Costs: The prints start at the $17.68 mark, but you can actually get them applied to tees, hoodies, and bags (including some guy-friendly incarnations).
