Flash Post: Waffle Weave
What It Is: No joke, waffles are one of my favourite food items (along with pancakes). If I had my way, I might be featuring a pancake or waffle-themed gift idea every week, but alas, I’ve got self-restraint. That is, till I saw this very fun and practical alternative to a waffle iron: a two-pack of silicon waffle moulds you can pop into the oven to bake up fluffy-yet-crispy breakfast nosh. Silicon is pretty much the ideal ingredient here because it makes is a snap to pop out your breakfast treats when they’re ready, as opposed to a rigid metal tray.
Who It’s For: Your mom, cause she loves serving up a hearty brunch like no one else (and the moulds let you make 8 waffles at a time). Your daycare-working friend, so she can suggest a tasty, oven-friendly alternative snack to ants on a log. Your cramped-for-space brother, so he can stash the pans in a tight corner and haul em out whenever he’s fixin’ for a yummy breakfast.
What It Costs: A two-pack of waffle moulds costs $44.99
Where It’s At: The Bay, both online and in-stores.
I like the fact that you can make 8 waffles at a time.
Making 8 waffles at a time would be great but I don’t like silicon for baking. Not sure I trust that it’s food safe and also it’s wobbly so difficult to hold onto unless you use two hands
I love the idea of the waffle molds, but actually got rid of my silicone muffin molds as they were too flimsy to use with the batter in them. It was hard to get the muffins to come out cleanly too. Would have to see the waffle molds in action before I invested this much money in them.
This is a neat idea! 🙂 Haven’t seen these before.
