In Bloom

I have to say that it’s been *really* lovely to see such a positive response to my ongoing series of ‘Natural Beauty’ posts. My aim with the CGG is to find you the best in gift ideas, but I also love helping people think a little differently about what they purchase and gift to others. With that in mind, let’s keep this (vegetarian) gravy train rolling with today’s featured brand, Canadian outfit Elabloom.

Elabloom Oil

The philosophy behind the brand is 100% in line with what I try to showcase in my natural beauty posts: simplicity, both in terms of the line’s ingredients, and their application. Their products are made from 100% pure plant extracts and are designed to eliminate a shelf full of lotions and potions in favour of one-step skincare solutions for both your face, and your body.

Elabloom Nourishing Body OilLike all good natural care brands, their products are formulated without those seriously scary / nasty ingredients like parabens, phthalates, or formaldehyde. In fact, if you look at the ingredient list it’s refreshingly readable with a unique blend of oils. From the familiar – like avocado or carrot oil – to the more exotic – like camelia or meadowfoam oil – each component has been carefully selected to ramp up your skin’s elasticity and smoothness. The Body Oil ($34) is rich in vitamins A, C and E and packs a serious antioxidant punch. Simply slather some on after a shower or bath and bask in your healthy, glowing skin. You can also use it to soften your cuticles, mix some in with your conditioner for some extra shiny locks, or even add a few drops to your bath.

Elabloom Facial OilIf you’ve ever taken a look at your face cream and quirked your face in confusion over the ingredients, a LOT of them are actually preservatives so manufacturers can keep them on the shelf for longer. One of my favourite features of Elabloom is their commitment to freshness. They make their products in small batches twice a month, and you can choose to either order from the latest batch, or plan ahead and get the freshest of fresh products from an upcoming run.

Elabloom Face OilTheir Nourishing Facial Oil ($48 for 15 mL), again, simplifies your skincare regime. Simply apply 4-6 drops both in the morning and a night to help heal and repair your skin. I’ve had some people comment to me that the idea of slathering straight oil on worries them because they have sensitive or oily skin. The simple truth is, pure oils won’t feel greasy at all. You won’t get that same dewy texture from a cream moisturizer; instead, I’d describe it as a just a soft, natural feeling.

Elabloom Baby BloomThe Elabloom line is mostly limited right now to their facial and body oils – available in a range of sizes and combinations to suit travel and testers alike – as well as a soothing body oil formulated for your little tykes (shower gift, anyone?) but I have no doubt that as word spreads about their pure, natural, miracle-working solutions they may dabble in other sensational products.

Elabloom Prize Package
Finally, it’s worth noting that as part of their major commitment to getting the freshest products in your hands as fast as possible, Elabloom offers $5 flat rate shipping to Canada, and you’ll likely see your products in about two days time. If you’re looking to sample their products in person, the wonderful Drake General Store and Healthy Living Plus in Toronto both sell the brand.

And with that, some super news – one of you is going to get to dabble in some Elabloom magic! I’m giving away a prize package valued at over $100, packed with both travel and full-size facial oils, and a body oil. Whether you’re soothing your skin after too much time in the sun or getting prepped for another blustery fall / winter season, this is a must-have set of items, which of course, would also work lovely to gift for your mom’s birthday, sister’s bridal shower, or even just to that friend you’re always trading beauty must-haves with. Here’s how to enter!
