Find of the Month: Macadamia Natural Oil

After weeks of basking in the sun’s rays, dipping our toes in the water, and getting prettied up for an endless array of backyard BBQs and weddings alike…well…our hair has seen better days, am I right? If you’re suffering from a mid-summer hair slump – you know, weather-damaged, frizzy, dry, tangled, lifeless locks? Well, this month’s big find might just be a godsend.

Macadamia Natural OilEnter Macadamia Natural Oil; a luxury haircare brand infused with the miraculous healing powers of, you guessed it, the oil-rich nut you’re probably most used to eating in a white chocolate chunk cookie. As it turns out, macadamia nuts possess the same restorative abilities as the likes of frequently buzzed about argan oil. The lightweight texture of macadamia oil packs a mighty punch: it actually mimics sebum, which is the naturally occurring oil your scalp already produces. In a nutshell (hey-o!), macadamia oil can actually be a substitute in nourishing hair that’s missing sebum thanks to insufficient production, or the more likely culprit – damage.

Macadamia Natural Oil ProductsNow that I’ve told you all the highlights of macadamia oil the ingredient, let’s talk about the brand. First and foremost – it’s a huge collection. You can mix-and-match all of their products for what I’d call 360 degree hair care (if such a thing existed). Start out by ‘caring’ for your hair with the brand’s everyday grooming products: from your not-so-basic Rejuvenating Shampoo and Moisturizing Rinse conditioner to treatments you’ll use less often, like a Deep Repair Masque. Goods like the Healing Oil Treatment (above) and other post-wash items are perfect for helping you seal in the shine and moisture for easy styling.

Macadamia Oil StyleFrom there, the brand offers a number of styling products that do everything from tame curls and untangle knots to providing all-day shine and hold. They’ve also got some special collections, like their Straightwear package which includes the brand’s own smoothing iron, signature straightening products, plus some favourites from their line-up for perfect, glossy locks all day long.

macadamia-brushesAlso awesome? Their line-up of pro brushes to make for easy (and flawless) styling under the blow dryer, hot iron, or whatever your hair torture weapon of choice may be. My personal favourite is the Oil Infused Brush Set which includes a detangling brush that actually has oil right in the bristles, carrying case, and travel-sized bottle of the brand’s Healing Oil Treatment.

Macadamia Oil The Essentials + Deluxe Carrying Case

Now you may be wondering about giving haircare products as a gift. While more and more girls are putting luxe hair goods on their list right alongside that fancy bottle of perfume or eyeshadow palette, we still tend to think about hair care second to sweet-smelling soaps or bubble bath. My suggestion? If the person you’re buying for has never tried the brand, go for one of their many awesome (and awesomely priced) gift sets. While the line already has beautiful packaging, when tucked into a floral carrying case or handy makeup tote, it only elevates the prestige and wow factor upon opening. Plus, most of the sets feature a smattering of the products – so if your giftee loves something, you can simply stock up on more items for future gifting occasions.

Macadamia Oil Gift SetNow if you’re wondering where to get your paws on Macadamia Natural Oil products, you’re probably in luck! The brand is sold at a number of salons in Canada (click here for a list) as well as online at Spa Boutique. It’s hard for me to give you an accurate range because so many of the products come in multiple sizes, but on average you’re looking at about $20 – $28 for any of the individual products. I should note that the very best (and guaranteed complete) selection of goodies, including all of those awesome gift sets I mentioned, is on the Macadamia Natural Oil website, which yes, ships to Canada.

It wouldn’t be a Find of the Month without a grand ol’ giveaway, and with that, I’m excited to be awarding one of my lovely readers with a prize package from Macadamia Natural Oil valued at over $150! Interested in restoring your mane to its former glory? Read on to enter!:
