What Dreams Are Made Of

Olivia Rose

What It Is: I should have known better. As I’ve mentioned, I recently became a first-time auntie to a little princess named Lilia. I went on a shopping spree for my niece and along the way, spotted these entirely frivolous but beautifully made petticoat onesies from a brand called Olivia Rose. Eventually I shared one of them with my sister, who not-so-subtly urged me to buy it (which I did, on sale, at Indigo, because I am a sucker for my niece already). Anyway, I decided to look into the brand a bit more and was delightfully surprised to learn they are Canadian! They have a pretty expansive collection of whimsical dresses, costumes, pettiskirts, tops and more for babies and little girls – designed for playtime, partytime, and make believe alike. Sure, some people might stick their nose up at something so frilly and indeed so frivolous. But sometimes it’s nice to let a little girl get swept away into a dream, isn’t it?

Who It’s For: Your newborn granddaughter, for her newborn photoshoot. Your princessy niece, as a lovely birthday present. Your daughter herself, as a special occasion dress for the wedding she’s attending this summer.

What It Costs: Prices are all over the map, but in general range from $25 – $69.

Where It’s At: As I just mentioned, Indigo is carrying Olivia Rose, but you can view and purchase their full collection online.

Speaking of babies and daughters – how about an extra entry into last week’s Mother’s Day Murad giveaway? Tell me in the comments below, what’s your favourite fantastical item from the Olivia Rose site?
