How Does Your Garden Grow?

RachioWhat It Is: A ‘smart’ irrigation system for keeping your lawn and plants looking as fresh and green as can be. Rachio is an easy-to-set-up device that replaces your current sprinkler box. From there, it basically functions in a similar way that Nest devices do for your home. Using a free app, you can control your sprinkler system from anywhere in the world. However, it’s also smart enough to do the work for you; Rachio automatically tracks the weather, as well as analyzes your climate and zone type, to set up an appropriate watering schedule. A must-have for vacationers and lush lawn lovers alike.

Who It’s For: Your parents, that spend most of their summer out at their cottage. Your sibling that should have worked at a golf course, they’re so obsessed with their green lawn. Your husband, who never met a smart gadget he didn’t like. Did I mention it also makes a swell Father’s Day pick?

What It Costs: Rachio comes in two sizes – the smaller model is $279 and covers 8 different sprinkler zones, while the bigger one is $329 and covers 16 different zones.

Where It’s At: Home Depot – online and in stores.

NOt a bad idea for travelers, but if you are on a staycation to save money then you may as well water the lawn manually.

    Sounds like a great idea

We live on acreage with no watering system, so this would not be very practical. I think it would be great in the city.

Has possibilities, and certainly much less expensive than having a system professionally installed.

Nice that you can travel and come home and your lawn is lush and green.
