To The Nines
What It Is: Today’s post isn’t so much a what, but a who? Spier & Mackay is an Ontario-based men’s retailer that carries all matter of clothing – from tailored suits and trousers to belts and ties. Their pricing is pretty awesome to begin with, but what really caught my eye is their online custom shirt tool. Now you can design a custom dress shirt for as little as $69, if you buy three at a time (regular price is $89). The design tool is really easy and comprehensive, giving you control over everything from the shirt collar to the fabric to the cuff type. You can also make it super personal by embroidering the shirt with the lucky gift recipient’s initials. So suave!
Who It’s For: Your son, who is just about to start his first office job. Your husband, as a lovely anniversary present. Your dad, because he knows the value of a nice dress shirt.
What It Costs: $69-$89 for a custom shirt (in most cases).
Where It’s At: Spier & Mackay is online, but they can also be visited in-person in their Mississauga shop.
BONUS entry into this month’s Perkse Coffee & Tea giveaway – tell me in the comments below, what do you think of this custom gift idea?
I love this! My husband is an account manager and updates his wardrobe quite often. This would be really convenient.
Nice gift for a special guy like my son-in-law Matt
Sharp looking shirts.
I think this is great – my boyfriend has a great eye and I’m sure would love to put his own touch on his clothing!
What a neat idea. What man wouldn’t love a customized shirt.
It is difficult to find shirts that are perfect, this is great.
I would definitely use this. It’s hard to find dress shirts with a French cuff
My brother might like this but he is pretty picky about his shirts.
I think it’s great. What a super idea for a great fit & getting the exact style that you might want/
I think this is a great idea. It seems like a reasonable price for a custom made shirt.
The price is immpressive.
This sounds like an EXCELLENT gift idea, particularly when someone is an unusual size.
I like the idea a lot, but my dear husband would just think it’s a waste.
I think it would be very nice, however I find it to be a little bit too pricey – thank you!
Perkse Coffee & Tea bonus entry: I think this custom gift idea would be great for the fashionable men in my life.
This would be a perfect gift for my son. He is so tall and thin, a custom made shirt would be just the thing.
i think my husband would love it!
I think this is perfect for those men who want to be stylish, but have a hard time finding the right size for them in regular stores.
Perkse Coffee & Tea bonus entry: I think this custom gift idea would be great for all the men in my life, they enjoy looking stylish
My husband would be interested, as he can never get the sleeves long enough on over the counter goods.
These look nice but I think it will be so hard to get the size right online!
You could try specialist online shirt tailors such as http://www.lewistaylorshirts.com. They use 10 body measurements to get the right size
you could use an online shirtmaker such as http://www.lewistaylorshirts.com who use 10 body measurements to get the right size
I love this idea as you are truly giving a give that is tailored to fit the recipient! Who wouldn’t like a custom fit shirt? The price doesn’t seem expensive when you consider most higher end shirts, off the rack cost this much.
