Haul Out The Holly
Posted by Canadian Gift Guide on November 3, 2015 · 31 Comments
With my holiday kickoff still in full effect, I wanted to quickly touch on some awesome festive decor items I’ve seen cropping up all over the place. While these all make lovely gifts for say, a family celebrating the holidays in their new home or a friend that simply loves Christmas, they’re equally nice splurges to make your house feel extra festive.
STRALA LED Decorative Light – $24.99
IKEA has a pretty cool Winter Holiday section on their site right now that I recommend you pay a visit to for gems like this little decorative lamp. With a built-in LED source, it’s a minimalist way to add a little wintery flair to your home. Place it on a shelf or window for a forest winterscape silhouette.
Lit Bronze Word Stocking Hangers – From $246 for a set @ Pottery Barn
Well I’m calling it. These might very well be the coolest stocking hangers I have ever seen! Yes they’re an investment, but first of all – they’re made of sturdy brass, so even the most stuffed stocking shouldn’t cause them to topple over. Secondly, they light up! Third, they light up sans cords, so they’ll keep your mantle looking clean and bright. Fourth, they’re a swell piece of holiday decor to boot. In love!
Felt Donut Ornaments – $14 each @ Drake General Store
Who wouldn’t love a little sweet treat on their Christmas tree? These quirky felted donuts are exclusive to Drake General Store and designed in-house. The perfect blend of crafty and kitsch, they look great next to a rainbow assortment of holiday lights – and they’re just one of dozens of fun tree-trimming ideas at Drake this season.
Glitter Reindeer – $32.99 @ Bouclair
Add a little festive sparkle to your holiday decor with one of Bouclair’s many options for decorative reindeer. From clear acrylic to glittery gold and silver to ceramic reindeer heads, there’s plenty of ways to bring this hip icon into your household this season. Want an even easier way to shop? Be sure to take a peek at Bouclair’s holiday shop for themed room ideas based on your desired mood or colour scheme.
Woodland Animal Lowball Glasses – $39.95 @ Indigo
One of my favourite motifs in recent years for the holidays is this whole idea of Canadian wilderness. These gilded glasses are a perfect example of how to make a moment feel festive, not cheesy. As nice to display as to drink out of, these lovely lowball glasses make an excellent host gift paired with a bottle of scotch.
GLUCKSTEINHOME Lanterns – $18.99 each @ Hudson’s Bay
Bring a little outdoorsy warmth and whimsy to your decor with these cool, log-inspired lanterns. Designed to hold a candle and serve as a lovely centrepiece or even outdoor steps decor item, these resin lanterns feature wintery cutouts in the shape of a moose and a snowflake. Again, it’s harkening back to that whole ‘nature’ theme for the holidays for a classic Christmas vibe.
Those are just six of the super great ideas I’ve spotted in my holiday travels so far…and I’m going to give you all a bonus entry into my KittyKitty giveaway if you tell me in the comments below – what’s your favourite holiday decor idea featured in this post?
