Ciate Mini Mani Month – $71 @ Sephora
I nabbed one of these nail kits from Ciate a few years ago and totally loved it! Once again, this cute calendar contains 24 pint-sized bottles of nail polish, only this year, Ciate has always added in some great treatments to make sure your nails look beautiful, no matter which shade you apply on top. A must-have for any diehard nail polish buffs in your crew.
PLAY-DOH Advent Calendar – $34 @ Amazon.ca
Want a sweet treat for the kids without the sugar? Check out this crafty fun advent calendar, featuring 24 days of PLAY-DOH colours and accessories that they can sculpt with. By the time Christmas rolls around, they’ll have enough goodies to create totally crazy concoctions – like a multi-coloured snowman or a holiday wreath!
Benefit Party Popper – $54 @ Sephora
Benefit was one of the originators of the beauty advent calendar, and this year they’re reinventing things again by featuring 12 different bestselling products in one festive, musical calendar. Pop open a door each of the proverbial ’12 Days of Christmas’ and get party ready with awesome products like the brand’s signature Watt’s Up highlighter, and Badgal Lash mascara. A fun twist on a cool trend.
Lego Advent Calendars – $39.95+ @ Indigo
I actually saw these advent calendars in person for the first time the other week – despite writing about them for years – and was astonished at how gigantic they really are! Rest assured this is $40 (or more) well spent as your kids will get to unwrap a new Lego figurine or items each and every day that work well on their own or integrate with other Lego sets for hours of fun. Available in three varieties – Star Wars, City, and Friends!
Phillips Beer Snowcase – $69.99
24 beers in 24 days? That sounds like a merry way to get into holiday spirits! This awesome brew collection features 24 bottles of Phillips Beer and is available exclusively at a range of liquor stores throughout Manitoba, Alberta and B.C. Be forewarned – this beauty’ll get snapped up in no time so call your local to secure one as soon as you can. If you’re not in one of these provinces, you can also try to hunt down the BeerAdvent Calendar, filled with tons of craft beers!
L’Occitane Advent Calendar – $49

Featuring 17 different beauty products – from hand creams to hair products to lip balm – plus a handful of other festive items, every day is a whimsical surprise when you pop open a door on this cute calendar. Bonus! This year L’Occitane has teamed up with Dress For Success – $10 from the purchase of the advent calendar and other gift sets will go toward helping outfit women in career-ready looks for job interviews.
Purdy’s Winter Village Advent Calendar – $25
Oh yes, it’s filled with delectable Purdy’s chocolates (including foil-wrapped milk chocolate bells and salted caramel minis), but this delightful calendar is certainly a step above those $1 calendars you can pick up at the drug stores. Featuring a whimsical village print, the calendar can actually be used again and again, as you simply pull out the daily ‘drawers’ to unwrap your treat. It’s a neat way to customize a ready-made advent calendar.
