Southern Style

Draper James Clothing Spring 2016

What It Is: Somehow I missed the news that Reese Witherspoon launched her own clothing line, called Draper James (after her grandparents’ last names), last year. Designed with southern sensibilities in mind, the line pretty much looks like what you’d expect the inside of Reese’s closet to look like – lots of ladylike silhouettes, charming details, romantic fabrics, and self-deprecating whimsical messages. Although the collection isn’t super huge each season, the sale section is a great place to snap up some stylish picks.

Who It’s For: Your mom, for her inner southern belle. Your daughter, for a new piece of workwear. Your stylish friend, who loves shopping at places no one else has heard of.

What It Costs: The idea seems to be affordable luxury – pieces start at about $58 USD for a tee and go up to $595 for a more elaborate dress. Again, scope out the sale section y’all. Fair warning, shipping is pricey – send it to a friend in the U.S. or pick it up at the border.

Where It’s At: Right now it appears Draper James is only on Reese’s site, but if successful no doubt it’ll start being sold at some higher end department stores here.

Speaking of high style, how about an extra entry into yesterday’s Pantone giveaway? Visit the Draper James site and tell me in the comments below – what’s your fave find?

Pantone bonus entry: Visited the Draper James site and my fave find would be those heels the models are wearing but she didn’t seem to have them for sale on her site, so instead I’ll go with her “it’s fall y’all sweatshirt” on sale for $50 from $125 but that’s still rich for my northern blood 😉
