Melt With You

Hugo & Nate Artisan French Caramels

What It Is: Oo la la! Some folks in Ontario have taken a traditional French method of making caramels – and created a sweet little family business out of it. Hugo & Nate Confectionery (named for the owners’ children) crafts caramels by hand in super small batches, resulting in uber fresh, melt in your mouth sweet treats that take a bite, maybe two, to devour. Available in five delectable flavours including Vanilla Bourbon and Harvest Apple, you can buy the toffees in glass jars or in bulk (from 500g).

Who It’s For: Your coworker, as a birthday gift. Your kid’s new teacher, as a welcome gift. Your hosts, as a gracious way to say thanks.

What It Costs: The jars are $10.99 each and the bulk starts at $24.

Where It’s At: Shop online here or check them out in retailers here.
