Find of the Month: Mériance
I have become rather fascinated by the skincare industry as of late. It’s partially through a writing job I’m working on, but also because lo and behold I am seeing the early days signs of aging on my skin and curious as to what works the best on maintaining that covetable youthful glow. As someone who is wary of chemicals in products, all my reading on brands like La Mer has left me a bit wary. However, this month’s find has definitely got my attention.
Meet Mériance Collagene (or Mériance). This Canadian brand boasts what they call a ‘native collagen’ extracted from the skin of noble fish species. If you perked up a bit there, you’ll note that luxury brands like La Mer also tap into species from the sea. I’m sensing a trend…
If you watch their nifty video, you’ll learn how Mériance’s unique technology is scientifically proven to slow the signs of aging skin. According to the brand, their method of extracting soluble collagen results in a record-breaking level of purity and faster absorption rates, meaning a great (positive) impact on your skin.
The Mériance line consists of an array of products designed to target your unique concerns while being sensitive to the variety of skin types out there. Whether you’re got dry, dull skin or too-oily skin, you can mix and match Mériance products to create your dream skin routine. I particularly like that they have the option to filter products by age group, as per your skin loses 1% of its collagen per year after you hit your 40s – it’s a great way to narrow down what will be the most effective for you.
Prices vary from product to product, but can start as low as $29 for their antioxidant capsules (for beauty from the inside out), up to $445 for one of their luxury gift sets.
