Happy Holla-Days 2018!

So yes, the Canadian Gift Guide is still on hiatus. BUT whilst I’m in the midst of holiday shopping for my loved ones, I couldn’t help but spot more than a few awesome gift ideas that I wanted to share with you guys. The holiday season is usually exhausting for me as I develop my gift guides, but this year I’m keeping things quick, dirty and fun with this one-off gift guide loaded with awesome inspiration for everyone on your list.
#MOOD False Lash Vault – $75 ($114 Value!) @ Sephora
I see a ton of beauty gift ideas every year so I’m always on the hunt for something truly different. Enter this collection of eight different pairs of faux eyelashes and some handy and easy to use eyelash glue. Choose the perfect pair to complement your look (and mood), and with proper care you can even wear them again!
iDance Party Ball Karaoke Machine – $69.99 @ Mastermind Toys
What’s not to love about this sweet idea for the kids? It works for virtually any age, encourages them to get off the couch and shake their groove thing, and adds an instant party atmosphere to any playdate. Designed with two microphone inputs and a Bluetooth speaker, it’ll have your little songbirds chirping away the day.
LOVE AND LORE Grande Purl Collection – From $24.50
I always say to myself that I don’t need more winter accessories, but I might have to make an exception for this lovely collection of oversized knit pieces. Coming in a few different hues like Antique White or Blush Pink, this might be the mini-collection that’ll actually get me excited to step out in my winter gear.
FABRIQ Riff – $69.99 @ Amazon.ca or FABRIQ’s eStore
I maintain that a GREAT gift idea is one that works for a bunch of people on your list. These Alexa-enabled speakers (designed right here in Canada) are perfect for the gadget lover, your teens, the perfect host, or even his man cave. Delivering crisp sound in a tiny package, these portable speakers can stream audio from all of the top streaming services (and then some – you can even play Audible audiobooks!) and can be controlled via Alexa (no Echo or Dot required) with a click of a button. You can even nab multiple speakers and link them together to create a surround sound system in your space. I really could go on and on – Hello cute designs! Yes to travel capabilities! Woohoo for easy and painless setup! – but I’ll leave you with a coupon code to nab your own on the FABRIQ website!
FABRIQ CANADA COUPON CODE! Save 20% on your FABRIQ purchase with gift code CGG20 at checkout, until December 31st (offer is eligible on the FABRIQ site only, not on Amazon).
Beautycounter Holiday Hand Cream Trio – $39
Safer skincare is music to my ears – or my hands in this case. Fight cracked, dry, flaky skin this winter with this trio of gorgeously packaged hand creams from Beautycounter. Not only will they deliver the moisture you crave, these beauties are limited edition scents of lavender, monoi (a Tahitian oil), and petal.
Ultimate Pub Trivia – $36 @ Amazon.ca
Who needs a pub trivia night to test their knowledge? This fun game lets you take down the competition (okay, your family) in a battle royale for who knows the most. Happy quizzing!
Smash + Tess The Velvet Romperall – $129
I’m not gonna lie. The real item I wanted to feature from Canadian romper brand Smash + Tess is their gorgeous sparkly holiday romper, but alas, it’s sold out. However, these velvet romperalls are nearly as cute and just as cozy, perfect for lounging or braving Boxing Day shopping in. Part loungewear, part trekking about town wear, you can go wrong with a cozy, stretchy romper this time of year!
Tomy Toomies Foam Cone Factory – $34.99 @ Mastermind Toys
Bath toys have a lot of life in them – your kids won’t destroy them as they only see them at bath time, and they make splashing around oh so fun. This cute gadget makes foamy sudsy scoops of ice cream for your little ones to play at lapping up.
One Day in December by Josie Silver – $14.99
There are a million and one books I could suggest or recommend for gifting this year (hint: Michelle Obama’s book is best enjoyed in its audiobook form), but I’m going to stick with something sweet and festively appropriate for your gal pals. This charming tale of ‘shoulda coulda woulda’ follows Laurie and Jack after a chance encounter that strikes them both – only for them to cross paths again when Jack is involved with one of Laurie’s best friends. It’s basically like a Hallmark Christmas movie in book format, so what’s not to love?
Custom Dog Socks – $24+ USD @ DivvyUp
If you love your pooch more than anything on this planet, then why not ensure he’s always right alongside you with a cute and quirky pair of custom photo socks? Featuring hyper realistic printing tech, these awesome socks make a perfect stocking stuffer or gift for the pal that seems to have everything (including an awesome fur baby).
Benefit Cosmetics Holiday Gift Sets – From $25 @ Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart and Indigo
How sweet it is to peruse Benefit’s cheery confectionary-themed holiday collection this year my friends. While there are a range of sets to choose from, I’m obviously smitten with these beautiful tins loaded with some of the brand’s most popular goodies, perfect for gifting to a Bene-babe or to a newbie to the brand. Plus $25 is a small price tag for what comes across as a mighty impressive gift.
Raw Prerolled Cones – $14.95+
This year marks a new category for holiday gifting: Items for cannabis enthusiasts. With the world of marijuana going way upscale, there are tons of gadgets and gear that will appeal to tastemakers. But I’m sticking to something simple and stocking stuffer friendly – these prerolled cones make it a cinch to get your joint together, plus they’re made from all-natural hemp that burns at the optimal speed.
Christmas Pullover – $39
Home Alone is hands down my favourite holiday movie, so naturally I flipped when I saw West Coast brand Little & Lively’s oh so festive pullover. Lightweight, stretchy, and emblazoned with a tongue in cheek message, this adorbs top comes in sizes for up to age six, meaning you can even twin out your kiddos for a cute photo op.
Coal & Canary Holiday Box Set – $50
Winnipeg-based candle brand Coal & Canary is still wowing fans with features in prestige gift guides like Hudson’s Bay! For the holidays they’ve got not one, but two limited edition five mini-candle boxsets available, each of which features a bonus scent you canย only get in the box set. From their holiday line, check out Have a Very Berry Xmas, and from their fall / winter Sweater Weather collection, enjoy the sweet aroma of Warm Wooly Mittens!
Popcorn Seasoning Set – $44 @ The Silk Road Spice Merchant
This upscale blend of popcorn seasonings is an ideal pick for the ‘Let’s Stay In’ friend or family member in your circle. Plus with all those awesome Oscar movies on the horizon, it’ll keep their favorite movie snack nice and flavorful for the slew of flicks they’re about to enjoy. Bonus: You can use these seasonings for other recipes and dishes after!
Super Mario Party for Nintendo Switch – $79.95
When I got my Nintendo Switch I said the one game I was truly psyched for was Mario Party. Luckily I got my wish this year and this family-friendly game didย not disappoint. There are five new game modes, including the classic four-player scramble, two on two, co-op, Sound Stage (a series of rhythm-based games to get you off the couch), and a minigame-only mode with its own subset of activities, plus loads of fun unlockable surprises. This is an ideal gift to share with a family that’ll keep them busy all winter long.
