Mulder & Skull-y

Today I’m going to throw a few choice pieces at you on the theme, however random, of skulls. Call em punk, call em creepy, call em cerebral, skulls have quietly made their way into fashion and home decor over the last few years, with a certain cool factor attached to them. If you’d like to up the hip quotient of your gift this year, consider one of the following ideas:
Skull Shot Glass Set – $19.99
Who doesn’t love a shot glass? The other week I chattered about these puppies as a wicked choice for a stocking stuffer. But instead of buying just one, consider getting a funky affordable set like this one available from Sears / Sears.ca. The fact that it comes as a collection makes it an ideal fit for the party girl or boy, so university students, new homeowners, and the like are probably your target demo. The price is just right if you’re buying for a niece or nephew, cousin, or slightly distant friend that you aren’t planning to blow the bank on. Consider throwing in a vibrantly hued bottle of alcohol for extra fun – like Cherry Sour Puss for the bold look above.
Skull Salt & Pepper Set – $19
Well I was actually going to highlight the skull tea light holder Urban Barn carries, but I thought these salt & pepper shakers were so striking I had to show you guys them as well. Definitely an attention-getting piece, this is a great, practical gift for the new homeowner, and will be a conversation starter for years to come. Also a nifty Secret Santa idea!
tokidoki Eye Shadow – $15
As another store with a plethora of skulltastic products, I gravitated towards tokidoki’s super precious Cromatico Eyeshadow collection, housed in hearts & crossbones cases. With intensely pigmented colours and a long-lasting finish, this is just the perfect little accessory for that wild child in your life. Just make sure you also check out Kat Von D’s super fierce solid perfume ring with skull band, or consider snagging Sephora’s own skull-bedecked travel brush at a bargain price of just $8, perfect as a stocking stuffer.

Also, that Crystal Skull vodka by Dan Akryod has a pretty nifty looking gift set for Xmas. You can get a bottle of vodka plus two skull shot glasses all packaged up for a decent price.
