As part of the truckload of men’s gift ideas I’ve got coming up for you, several of them surround the idea of personal care for men. Personally this is one of my favourite categories for guy gifts because it’s very rare a guy will think “I’m going to splurge on a luxe shave cream” or “I’m well overdue for a invigorating shower gel”, and yet when you buy something like that for your man of choice (whether he be a husband, brother, father, or otherwise) he’ll absolutely adore it.
With that, I bring you Y-Spa for Men, a product line formulated just for guys, with their unique skincare needs in mind. Unlike many other men’s lines which stem from a lady-first business and simply extend their basic formulations with a few manly scent tweaks, Y-Spa is a professional line of products that’s actually used in spas for men’s treatments, as indicated by the Y-Chromosome brand name. Now, it’s available for home use so if your guy is the type to indulge in a spa treatment (or even if he’d never dream of setting foot in one) he can still obtain pro-quality results at home. Pumpkin Exfoliating Masque – $61Every time I put on a face mask my fiance gives me a look like I’m a monster – but if he only knew how refreshing it was, he might think twice. Hint: this may be one product you want to thieve for yourself; the scent is as divine as the results.
Alum Block – $19As you can see by the directions above, this handy block works as an antiseptic and blood coagulant for those pesky nicks – great for the guy that’s always in a rush shaving in the morning (I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen my own dad with bits of bloody paper on his face). Alum is a natural mineral from France that works quickly and simply to stop bleeding safely – simply wet the stone and place it on the cut for instant relief. A smart travel pick as well.
Invigorating Foot Gel – $28.50 It seems to me that dads in particular are more likely to keep some sort of intense fitness regime. While some guys are all about body building, a lot of guys I know participate in some other form of semi-organized activity – whether it’s weekly tennis matches, playing on a soccer team, or going for daily jogs. All that zipping around town can wreak havoc on his feet, and with flip flop season upon us, a handy gel cream can be just what he needs to both perk up, soothe, and soften his hardest working body parts.
